Moonlight Is A Mixer

i just want you to know that some of the subtitles for shuaibo and jinxin were wrong to make them look worse when the subtitles say that woonggi didn’t explain the concept etc, he was actually complaining about how mnet was refusing to give him a translator so he couldn’t understand what woonggi said well

Moonlight Is A Mixer

also i wanted to ask you, since the final has already ended, are you going to try to avoid spoilers or do you already know the results, or idk something else?

Daniel Goland

I'm trying my hardest to avoid spoilers, and haven't seen anything yet that would ruin it for me, other than the group name I don't know much else :)

2023-06-18 13:59:23 Oh man, kinda strange to go back now after the finale, knowing the final lineup. Of course I won't be giving any hints or spoilers and will try to write these comments from the perspective of my first time watching the episodes. - The thing is, I don't think the two dance masters are all that different. I've seen both of them yell at trainees who deliver a poor performance. - Thanks Hanbin. Way to set an expectation in Back Koo-young. - Park Hanbin really makes sure you have those moves down. It's why he has become a very strong top 9 candidate for me. - Fucking BEASTLY performance from the Law team. - Bobby has A LOT of survival show experience so he knows how stressful it is. That's probably why he's being much nicer than the other masters. Well, and the fact that he's Bobby. He is not capable of being mean or even just harsh in any way :D - The beginning of this song deadass just sounded like we were gonna get rickrolled by Mnet - I love the Man In Love performance so goddamn much. Everyone sounds so great. Mingyu really surprised me and this was also the moment where Taerae entered my top 9. What a gorgeous voice! - I get what you're saying about the previews not looking good and them then delivering on the performance. And most times that is true. But holy shit, Rush Hour was actually rough all the way to the end. - And at the centre of the problems is Ma Jingxiang. I don't think he was doing any of this with malicious intent. He was probably feeling extremely stressed out and pressured but man, this individualistic route is not the solution here. - „There's no time, let's just practice“ How tf are you gonna practice if your teamwork is in ruins like that? Jingxiang keeps saying that he understands but he clearly shows that he doesn't understand a thing. - Ahjussi is a word you use to call out to an unknown middle aged man. Literally translates to „Mister“. And from what I understand, if you call someone an Ahjussi, you're basically calling him a boomer. - The thing that really bewilders me here is that this team apparently didn't resolve their issues for SIX DAYS. They just kept practicing like that with non-functional teamwork all the way to one day before the show. How the hell do you go on like that for almost an entire week? - „I left my team to be here.“ Sungmin (or should I say Jerome), there's no need to sugarcoat it. You can just say that WakeOne kicked you out of TO1 for no good reason. - So yeah, they made up in the end but the night before the performance is just too late. They needed to resolve this at least five days ago. - It was better than the day before. But it was still lacking in my opinion. There was nothing wrong with the performance on a technical level but it wasn't exciting. The energy was just kinda off. - And Ma Jingxiang, for how much he stressed himself (and by proxy everyone else) out about needing to practice more, by far impressed me the least. - Limousine was great. I just wish that Viki subtitled the songs as well. Especially in this performance the lyrics are VERY important. I don't get why the Viki subbers don't seem to think so. - Yeah but Mnet doesn't HAVE to do it like that. I saw some people talk about the non-Mnet survival show My Teenage Girl (formed CLASS:y) and how clean and fair the whole thing was. Apparently it was a really good and enjoyable show. I wonder how we can make Mnet understand that evil editing is not necessary to create a good survival program. - My man Zhang Shuaibo said that Feel Special is his favourite song and he doesn't even have the lyrics down. Oof. - It's like he doesn't even want to be part of this performance. - Woongki is really hard carrying this entire team. - I'm not gonna say anything about the Chinese members allegedly complaining about Woongki, that's just Mnet lying in their translations. - But regardless of that, this was not a very good performance. Woongki carried but only one member being really good is not enough. - What the hell? Why did Shuaibo get first place here? That just doesn't make sense. - Okay Hanbyeol, now you're just taking the piss. - Doesn't Daeul remind you of SKZ I.N? They look like they could be brothers. - I was initially really worried about this one when I saw who was doing it. But the final product came out really good! - Give all three of them like another 6 months to a year of training and they'll be ready to debut! I see a lot of potential here. - DU HAST MICH GEFRAGT UND ICH HAB NICHTS GESAGT. Sorry whenever someone not German goes „Du hast“, it triggers an automatic response - I was very sceptical when Ichan barely survived in the previous round, over some other candidates that I thought deserved it more at the time. So I'm especially happy that he proved me wrong here and that he did deserve to go on another round. - The Butterfly team is actually doing pretty well at the evaluation. They are at the point where Solji and Youngjoon can give specific feedback and advice. That's good! - A beautiful performance. It's just such a shame that Junseo lost his confidence like that. - Yes! I was so mad when the line „I'm no fucking angel“ in Le Sserafim's No Celestial got replaced by „I'm no freaking angel“ on Spotify. It just does not work. - Yup. That's it. Tomboy won. End of discussion. - Hell yeah, you fucking know it! Episode 8 eliminations LET'S GOOOOO Here are my personal rankings, by teams. Vocal & Rap: #4: Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms It was a really good performance! There was no bad team in the VocalRap round but someone has to be last, that's just how it is. Doha especially surprised me a lot. And Ichan proved himself in a way I wasn't expecting. Really great job against all odds! #3: Limousine Anything that directly calls out Mnet's bullshit gets bonus points from me. Krystian was the surprising star of this performance, really twisting the image that Mnet tried to paint of him. Great stuff! #2: Man in Love I LOVE this one. Taerae's voice is so incredibly beautiful. Everyone sounded great! Mingyu made such a huge jump from anything he's shown before. Incredible! Gives me goosebumps every time. #1: Tomboy I don't need to explain why, right? We've seen this performance, there is no need to elaborate. Vocal & Dance: #4: Feel Special Sigh. What really annoys me is how Shuaibo didn't even attempt to put in the effort that was necessary. Woongki had to carry his entire team and he was great. But that alone is not enough. #3: Butterfly Overall a beautiful performance that was sadly let down by Junseo getting way too nervous half way in. Had he not messed up like that, this one could have been higher. #2: Love Killa Really good. This one is a bit hard for me to rank because Love Killa is one of my least favourite Monsta X titles. So I already have an inherent bias against it. And Matthew doesn't QUITE fit this concept. But objectively speaking, they did it flawlessly and I have to acknowledge that at least. #1: Home Made me cry. Instant win. Rap & Dance: #4: Rush Hour The whole vibe of the team was just off. I already talked about it at length so I'll leave it at that now. #3: Gang This was honestly really good! The problem is just that this one came at the beginning of last episode and it's kinda hard to remember with how many other performances have come after. But they did really well. #2: Zoom KEITA MAH BOI. Such great energy! And even though this one came right after Gang, so just as early, it just knocked my socks off and stuck in my head the entire time. #1: Law „Look at me slaying this whole world“ HELL YEAH BOYS! FUCKING SHOW THEM. Overall, all the teams were incredible, I would have a hard time saying which group I preferred. But the RUSH HOUR team definitely struggled. -DG I think you're fixated on MNET yet you've seen a number of shows now. They're not doing anything wrong in this season so far. The tension between the members of the RUSH HOUR team is real and palpable. MNET only highlights it. it's the role of TV directors to take the best and the worst of each program to make them interesting. it's not like in GIRLS PLANET where they deliberately created and mounted a bad buzz against FU YA NING to highlight YUJIN. -for TAKUTO, he reminds me of SOHYE or RINA from the first season of production, he doesn't have great skills and seems very fragile to keep up with the very demanding pace that idol life demands, I thought he would be eliminated before. -despite all the rush hour team did better than I thought even if they are well below the other groups.

I'm sorry but I don't have that option, I talked about it in my other Boys Planet reactions.

Mnet may be snakes sometimes, but they aren’t all the time. Not every person being a jerk is “evil editing”. Some people really are jerks. Ma Jing Xiang was a selfish ass on multiple episodes to multiple teams. He seems like he is just impossible to work with. Don’t even get me started on Zhang Shuai Bo and how he SHOULD NOT have gotten first. Woong Ki carried the whole team and performance on his own, he more than deserved first. People can say Shuai Bo wasn’t given a fair shot or whatever but he got to perform a song he said was HIS FAVORITE and then didn’t even make an effort with the choreo or the words. That isn’t other people trying to screw him over or bad translations, that is 100% him not even trying.
