So talking about rigging : Yes there were rigging in several MNET show I know for sure there were rigging for PRODUCE X101 and I think PRODUCE 48. I'm not sure but in PRODUCE s2 there was also one of the top contestant who never fell from the top until at the end so it was weird. However, they put this at the start showing "there are no rigging" but they still manipulate with screentime and in BOYS PLANET honestly, it will be a little bit oblivious which trainees are favored. Even if MNET say there aren't cheating or doing votes manipulations, you clearly see who they want you to vote for by the screentime and it get so oblivious at some point that sometime it's so annoying. At the end of the day, people will vote for the one having more screentime especially if they don't know the others contestants from others shows or which group they are from and it's sad. For example, I got annoyed knowing Na Kadem had his rap cut off especially when he actually worked so hard to write it on his own, meanwhile they couldn't stop showing Jay (I get he is talented but I want to see the others one you know) I don't hate boys planet but it will not be my favorite show, right now I'm watching it because I got some trainees who stole my heart like Keita (Ciipher), Haruto (performed NCT DREAM), Chen Kuan Jui (the flexible guy showed this episode) and also because I'm supporting Wumuti who was my favorite trainee in the survival show UNDER19 (his audition will not be show) They dropped it with the last episode released but for me : K-GROUP VS G-GROUP storyline was annoying and a big problem in BP. If there are global trainees in the final group, they will be mixed so I don't think it was necessary for mnet to do such storyline and keep it As much as in GP999 the cell system was hell for voting, it was much better because the trainees were mixed (since some global trainees doesn't have the same training as the Koreans one, they could have learn from each others) and less favoritism. Globals trainees especially if they don't have tie or no Korean decent, or at least doesn't caught Korean viewers eyes, they will end up only being carried by Internationals fans which doesn't help them since it's 50/50. G-GROUP ranking suffer from this storyline and I don't want to make theories but I feel like MNET knew what they were doing (it's like when they love to evil edit Chinese contestants, it happened on GP999, it will happen again here just saying). I don't think it's a spoil but I think it's a shame they didnt drop it for the performance mission which is kind of a big deal. Also you will see later but I like GP999 because the judges were the one judging the performances all the way, now BP have audience and it's kind of work with popularity since viewers aren't that neutrals. My last point : You can't trust the audition so don't take seriously Several Example - The Japanese teams who performed SHINE were actually a 6 members group but for some unknown reason, 3 members didn't perform. The 3 others only had 1 hours to change and practice everything before the performance with 1 member fluent enough in Korean and I think it's totally unfair. Also the one who didn't perform ended up with Zero Starts, Zero screentime and didn't get judged as they should have. It's sad because one of the rapper who didn't get to perform aka HYO was a big PENTAGON fan even UNIVERSE knew of him and were surprised to not see him. - The G-GROUP who did HOT by SEVENTEEN was done dirty. They didn't get to choose the song they wanted to do, MNET gave them the song. Mnet only gave them the chinese translations and they just followed the chinese pronunciation given too. - BEIJING TEAM (they are in the editing when they were talking about singing) were originally going to do LOVE SHOT but then mnet made them change it to CALL ME BABY so they had the shortest practice time of all the groups (Source : for SHINE TEAM, MNET released a practice version, others are from the eliminated contestants) Also if MNET choose songs for some teams, it's no surprise to see suddenly two people performing MY HOUSE (especially trainees who are signed as actors), two people performing Taemin and severals trainees having songs who are choreographed by the Master. Honestly I can't take auditions seriously if not everyone get the chance to choose their songs. Imagine having a song given to you that doesn't suit you or your range? Of course the audition might not go well. Also I can't be harsh on the audition because we have to take in account the stress + how many hours some had to wait before performing (they might have ended up tired). Still i'm glad they released practice version because they are good. The whole section talking about the vocal aspect and some edited performance : When you watch the performance without cut and editing it's actually okay (Yeah there are mistakes it happen especially since they are trainees and multiple factors to take in account.) MNET editing was so bad in this section because when the judges were talking to a group, the next frame you could see them in the background 😂 To end my comment just to point out others idols here : Seowon/Jiho (both of them had red|black outfit) /Winnie (the trainee from Thailand) are from NINE.i, Sungmin and Woonggi (the one doing the fanchant of ONF's Beautiful Beautiful during Hanbin performance) were in TO1 that you saw on ROAD TO KINGDOM (i can't say they left because i'm sure WAKEONE mostly kicked them out of TO1 to put new members for "a new image" that what they said apparently, really weird), Hwanhee and Dongyeol were from UP10TION, some globals contestants here have done survival show like YOUTH WITH YOU/PRODUCE CAMPS/PRODUCE JAPAN/UNDER19 etc

the host or the planet master Hwang min huyn was a member of Wanna one the BG made by the second season of produce series .with regard to the votes MNET appealed to an independent organization to take care of the impartiality and the respect of the votes. because MNET had a lot of problem with the production teams of their survival show who manipulated the votes.

fabrice maire

the change of this season is more relevant I think. there is no more K-C and J-group. but simply a Korean group and a global group. I think giving it a chance to young artists from Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, the USA, etc. in addition to the usual Japanese and Chinese idols will bring spice to the program and diversity.

This is my third time watching. I watched with 1 other reactor. I really like a couple of them, but really love Kim Ji Woong, you’ll meet him in episode 2. The group he’s with is pretty good as well. I’ve followed his acting career and love the BLs he’s done.

fabrice maire

and to say that Hoe taek is a producer and authors that he wrote songs for Wanna one (winner of produce X 101) the second season of the produce series and now he is a participant in one of these shows. I can't imagine how he must feel.

fabrice maire

vocaly Solji is one of the best amoung the best female idol singer only 3 or 4 girls can battle with her ( Hyolin, Ailee ,Bada ) even Taeyeon , Boa, IU or Wendy can be in struggle with her .

- "GP999 had some looong episodes". I could literally see the trauma in your face 😄 - Rigging There have been a lot of shows where votes were rigged. Some were proven and admitted but a lot are speculation because it's very hard to prove. Even though MNET is trying hard to keep up appearances by showing that message of the third party overseeing the voting, it's important to distinguish actual rigging with vote manipulation: I don't expect vote counting will be rigged, but already the whole setup is skewed: they keep on promoting that this is a GLOBAL show and imply that everyone has the same chance/opportunity. But that's not the case. 50% is from Korea, so already you can expect at least 50% of the final group to be from korea. I say "at least" because even the ones from the other countries (like US or Canada) seem to be korean. One of the contestants said jokingly "will someone with blonde hair and blue eyes come out?". Coincidentally the answer is no. Also no black or brown ppl. This makes me really wonder about the selection process. And then there's the voting mechanism: korean votes count as 50% again! This is such discriminating bs. So all Koreans already have a really big unfair advantage. Especially if you expect for every country to vote for their own contestants, thereby even further dividing the global votes. Add to this that this show is much easier to follow in korea (tv, normal times) than in the rest of the world. And then there's the language difficulties and last but certainly not least MNET's editing by giving more screentime to whoever they want. So, will the votes be rigged? Probably not. But is the voting fair? Absolutely not. - Why are mic packs still falling? K-pop has so much experience that I feel this shouldn't happen anymore (and idols don't have to worry about them anymore).

- As someone who only knows ph-1 from the "Get Real" podcast, I just went: "Harry? What the hell are you doing here?!?" I only know him as chill, slightly awkward, super funny guy who helps Peniel roast Ashley... probably should check out some of his music - the interaction between the Jellyfish gang and Takuto was too funny - Chop Suey! would have been an extremely fun shock during the auditions 😄 - I was scared that one of the dance judges would straight up throw Yujin or Gyuvin out of the competition to hire them themselves. - Oh nice, we get an SWF encore. - I'm kind of sad Pentagons getting the CLC treatment. While the judges were talking about taking this serious, the management in Cube really needs to take THEIR jobs seriously... I'm pretty sure ()-Idle and BtoB are only surviving because they produce their stuff themselves... Some massive talent, MNet seems to have messed a bit wit the order to group all the weak performances though... I honestly confused, how some contestants come from far, far away and are totally unaware that they will obviously not cut it.

You should definitely check out the Rush hour full performance on ytb bcs mnet really cut out Kamden’s part and fully focused on Jay which I’m not complaining I love Jay but Kamden write his own rap and he SLAYED that so it’s really sad they cut it out Also the guy Haruto he was in show LOUD with JYP and PSY so he also has some experience working with both of those companies but he was already super talented when he came in loud too I can peacefully say they he’s all rounder and also he’s so funny also his reaction are on point 🤣🤌🏻 There’s also many trainee who already debuted but mnet didn’t show it in every case like for example Keita from Ciipher or Jiho , Winnie and Seowon from NINE.I , Woongki ex member from TO1 , Jiwoong ex member of INX so many of they have at least some experience Also some of them were also contestants in other competitions/survival shows like for example I Chan was in iland if I’m not mistaken It’s also important to say that mnet’s editing is not always the best because they always shows some mistakes and make it a big deal while the boy is sick so he can’t fully perform in 100% conditions… yes some of them are just not that great but some has really bad conditions or they’re rappers and mnet want from them to sing high notes which is really stupid Otherwise I hope you’re enjoying watching it and can’t wait to see your reaction for next episode 🫶🏻

2023-03-17 15:00:20 Ok, so I just missed out on SWF. I'll eventually catch up on it in my own time without writing these long comments probably. I wanna be up to date with Boys Planet for now. - I'm actually not ahead, I'm gonna be watching this with you for the first time. I don't even know who the contestants are aside from Hui. - Oh yeah, and Hui wasn't there when Pentagon performed in Paris. They were down to only five members and still delivered. Pentagon are actually incredible and it makes me wonder how insanely good a concert with all nine of them must be. - Also, I recently realised that I saw one of the dance coaches from GP999 live last year. She was one of Sunmi's backup dancers on her world tour! - So Hwang Minhyun is the MC of this show. He's a member of NU'EST who disbanded last year. He recently had his solo debut with Hidden Side. I haven't heard it myself though. - Kpop groups with only foreign members? The only one I can think of is Blackswan and they just ended up like that because all of the Korean members left their apparently quite shitty company. - From Planet Guardians to Star Creators. - So just like in GP999, Korean voters have much more power here. Lovely. - Alright, I just went to check out the signal song before we get into this properly. And holy hell, why do these Produce type signal songs always go way too hard? - Lee Daeul is from 143 Entertainment. That's iKON's new label! - Alright then, seven stars is maybe a bit much - Okay, Mr. Contortionist. - Jellyfish Entertainment! They're the ones that completely fumbled gugudan! You don't know the group but you certainly know one of the members, Kang Mina. She played Yuna in Hotel del Luna. And Verivery are also under Jellyfish! - And you know Yue Hua as Everglow's company or rather the people that need to get their shit together and give Everglow some new music for fucks sake. - FNC is behind Cherry Bullet, yes. SF9 is in there too! - One last contestant and I think we all know who it is. - Hui should have given himself ten stars at least! - Lee Hoetaek from Cube? No sir, you are Hui from Pentagon and YOU NEED TO BE PROUD OF THAT. - Yeah, they just showed Wanna One's Energetic. HE PRODUCED THE DEBUT SONG OF A PREVIOUS PRODUCE GROUP. WHAT IS HE DOING HERE AS A CONTESTANT. - Yes Hui, show them who's the main vocal in this bitch! - Yeah, absolutely. No point in even challenging him. - Not familiar with Lee Seok-hoon but the boys seem to be excited at least. - Solji? From EXID? - MY MAN HANBYUL LETS GOO - Harry in the house! I really should go check out pH-1's music. - You listened to Kang Daniel's Nirvana which features pH-1. - Guess who's Back. Kooyoung! I'll show myself to the door now. - Oh damn, getting the song a day earlier is a huge advantage. - „We must win“ said Winnie. I guess with that name, it's just his destiny. - Why do the English subs call Hanbyul „Onestar“? - Alright then, verivery strong showing there from team Jellyfish! - Yup, Gunwook is establishing himself as an early favourite. - Right, the singing was a bit hard to hear sometimes. I get the reasoning. - You know, before watching this, I heard a lot about this Haruto guy. And seeing him perform Glitch Mode, I understand why. - Nice one with the stick. - Oh my god, this Chen Kuanjui is amazing. - Oh so they're just not gonna show most of these performances? Not surprised but still disappointed. - I've seen this Jay kid before. He is VERY Gen Z. Good voice though. - Zhang Hao seems promising and I always appreciate idols who can play an instrument. - I guess they're gonna introduce us to some new thangs - Hell yeah! - I think you get three stars when there's technically nothing wrong with your performance. But to get four stars you really need that special something that makes you stick out from the crowd. - This Han Yujin is even younger than Guinn Myah who was the youngest contestant on Girls Planet. Granted, that show aired almost two years ago but still. - 2007, meanwhile Hui over there is turning 30 this year. - I did not know what I wanted to do in 2007. And honestly I still don't really know and I'm turning 25 in less than three months. - Wait, are they doing a Kick It remix? - Ok, not really a remix but that's a bold choice, going for the same song. Obviously that'll encourage comparisons. - Nah, there's no way Han Yujin has only been dancing for a year, wtf is this - Yup, Cube does have a lot of very talented people. And Cube themselves are also very talented in the fine arts of messing things up for their artists. - How old is this Bak Doha? That voice is something else, man. - Well, unfortunately it doesn't really translate into a good singing voice 😬 - At least I now know the way into Lip J's heart. I just need to do a shitty performance of My House in front of her. - What the fuck, one of them did Kai's Mmmh? And Mnet didn't show it? - AND KO KO BOP? MY FAVOURITE EXO SONG? MNET WHY? - Ok, these credits are going way too fast. I think the point is, these two have done a lot of iconic choreos. - Introducing COLD by Seven. - Oh, Master Youngjun is ready to FIGHT. - I love how Lip J is just vibing here. - Listen, Donggun, I appreciate the choice of a Taemin song. But Criminal is not one to scream out like this. The song is much more sensual and delicate. - And another guy who also messes up Criminal. I'm about to call the police for actual crimes committed against Taemin and his artistry. - I should mention that all of my comments here are just meant in good fun. I'm not here to disrespect the contestants. Some of them just need to practice a lot more. - I'm actually concerned. I've seen reports that these initial evaluations on GP999 took something like 40 hours and they didn't get a break to eat or sleep. I'm afraid that might also be the case here. - Matthew is from MNH. Interesting. Chungha's (former?) label and Bvndit's (definitely) former label. They just debuted a new boy group called 8Turn but afaik Matthew is not in it. - Ooh, All I Wanna Do by Jay Park. I haven't even listened to it on Spotify or Youtube but I know it quite well from having seen Jay Park himself perform it live twice. Great song! - And Matthew was good! Could use some practice to clean out some minor things but VERY solid foundation! - Those captions are on Viki though, that's at least ONE thing Mnet didn't mess up 👍 - Yes, 3 stars is what I would've given him as well. - Yo, on the topic of waacking and tutting: DG, you really gotta check out RV Irene & Seulgi – Naughty. The BEST choreography of 2020! - Dude, this is being recorded on TV. You can put away your phone - HOLY FUCK HANBIN. - And Lip J too of course. God damn it, why did I miss out on your SWF reactions? I really gotta do some catch up. - And Hanbin is doing an ONF song. He really wants to be my favourite I guess. - I just checked. ONF's original choreo doesn't include this kind of waacking. That was all Hanbin's additions. Damn. Yeah, he's definitely my favourite so far. - I understand the 3 stars but he gets ten stars from me personally! - Oh, are we having another Helicopter situation? At least there isn't any unnecessary scripted shittalking here. - Those initial piano notes of Shine are just way too iconic. - And this is even more bittersweet because I just recently saw Pentagon perform this song. Without Hui. Because he's here doing Boys Planet. - I still don't understand why Cube sent Hui here. Pentagon isn't even struggling like CLC was. Cube just needed to have Hui return to his group, let him perform with them at MIK Festival Paris and start preparations for a comeback. He shouldn't be on this show. Ok, I'll do the thing again. Here are the songs that were performed in this episode: - Verivery – G.T.B.T.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDfFtJcj5x4 - NCT Dream – Glitch Mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZP2h3WIzqk ✅ - SuperM – Tiger Inside: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUsUzbmSLow - Crush – Rush Hour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS0qkO5qty0 ✅ - NCT 127 – Kick It: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OvyA2__Eas ✅ - The Boyz – Reveal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PugZA26sj-8 - 2PM – My House: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2pFB1dCSo4 - Seventeen – Hot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRnuFC4Ualw ✅ - Taemin – Criminal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFQL7BS6lrs ✅ - Jay Park – All I Wanna Do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT7Q93fy1us - ONF – Beautiful Beautiful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pwBFTUJBzQ - Pentagon – Shine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4dH6hEMuwk And some of the songs they cut out of this episode include Ko Ko Bop and Call Me Baby by EXO, Mmmh by Kai, Crown by TXT, God's Menu by Stray Kids, DamDaDi by Golden Child and View by SHINee. All of the performances were uploaded to Youtube in full but I won't link the playlist here to avoid spoilers for episode 2. You'll get it next week. Which I hope will also finally include some songs by female artists.

Moonlight Is A Mixer

WJSN is under both starship and yue hua, but obviously you wouldn’t know because yue hua sucks so it’s basically like only starship manages them
