I wonder if it's related to her collab with Loco. They released "Don't" together in June 2018 and Twit was released Feb 2019. To me, he seemed very smitten with her on the show (Hyena on the Keyboard). Felt, to me, like it was the start of a relationship. As far as her feeling smothered. Look at how she reacted to Kei at the end of the whole picking a partner scene in Queendom. That was overwhelming for her. I could see a romantic partner making her feel smothered. Your dark k-pop lyrics comment made me think of this comedy short: https://youtube.com/shorts/k1lh63QQ7uQ?feature=share

LMAO, I remember that short, love those guys! And yeah now that you mention Queendom it does make even more sense for her to feel that way in a relationship!

From what I remember her saying somewhere Twit was about a relationship with a non celebrity.

Kreigmstr

Thanks for sharing that. I wasn't aware of those specific comments from her.

There's a program called "We Will Channel You" and Hwasa talked more about Twit. She said that SHE had actually chased the guy around for a while, but he didn't want to go out with her (because she's a celebrity and she said he's a non-celebrity). Then once they started going out, HE ended up liking her more. In the end she took him for granted, and she calls herself the Twit. I couldn't find a clip that explains the whole thing, but this was one that recaps it the best: https://youtube.com/shorts/m5GaJEWNkE8?feature=share

Calvin and Habs are great. :) Funny thing is, i just noticed that it was a Twice song that they used in the clip. Which makes it even funnier to me. Because the english part of those lyrics were accurate. :D

What you wrote here sounds familiar. The only thing I remembered at first was that it was about a relationship she had with a non celebrity and that she herself was a fool about it in the end. I will try to look up the program later because I'm curious now to see it again. Edit: Found the episode. If you search for We Will Channel You EP17 you'll find it. Now I just need to find the time to watch it again.

Nice, thanks! I watched it once a while back, so my memory could be slightly off haha. I'll watch it again too, when I get some time!

Yu-Gi-Oh's sketchbook? 😄 (Sorry, of course that's not what you said but it's what I heard and I thought it was funny)

2023-02-26 11:05:17 I remember from reading a tweet that Jihyo from YGX, H_1 & Simeez from Lachica performed with Hwasa Twit at the 2019 SOBA. So maybe she is in the MV? Can't quite remember tbh.

Yeah, from memory, Hwasa said SHE was the guy in this music video while her partner was represented more accurately to be her in the mv. Really she's calling herself a twit. Coincidentally enough, Wheein's Easy is basically Twit but reversed but like Hwasa, she has spoken of not being the one to chase her SO and taking him for granted. (If you combined Easy and Twit, you can say Wheesa made both perspectives of the same relationship/story as their debut solos and I think that's beautiful)

The Shimcheong reference you read was more the conclusion of the story. I think this video from DKDKTV is a good analysis of the music video and the folklore in general. I think you'll find it interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUGwqNJu24o
