The idols don't have good reputation among professional dancers of singers The tattoes in Korea can do only people who has a medical certificate, this is official, also the tattoes in Korea still are stereotype with criminals

The Gabee/Aiki rematch was B.S. It's a competition between pros, not 5th graders so you don't want to hurt someone's feelings. Aside from that, to me, Gabee dances like a very good stripper. I was not impressed. Yeah, I get it too, they just want to draw this out as much as possible. I find that to be annoying. I think that Monika could make a fortune as a dominatrix. ;) Monika waved her off at the end because of the disrespect of picking her as an underdog. Not saying it was right, but she's been on top for so long for a reason. With LipJ and Peanut, I agreed with the redo. It was very close. They were the most enjoyable fight. What was interesting for me was watching the faces of the girls who hadn't performed yet. A lot of them had a look of "What the hell have I gotten myself into?" The judges seem to be more into the overall performance than the dancing prowess itself. It's fine, and it shouldn't have surprised me, but it did. I also had some minor issues with the editing, but that's just how they do it, so I can adapt or die, I guess. This is one of the shows that I'll follow to the end. Lastly, I appreciated the sportsmanship at the end there. I get the whole confidence/in your face aspect of these battles, but respect for your opponent is a good thing.

I've only seen the first half of this show before so I'm excited to finally watch the whole thing with you. With Gabee vs Aiki I'm on team Aiki. Gabee choose to take her pants off and she shouldn't get a redo just because they got stuck. The fact that Aiki stepped in to help her so she could finish her performance with the time left makes me like Aiki even more. The fact that Gabee is holding a grudge over refund sisters is dumb. Companies solicit choreography from multiple choreographers all the time. Not getting chosen isn't a reason to hate Hook. Also claiming that Hook was only chosen because their choreo was easier just means that maybe Gabee should have known her audience better. I really like Gabee on other shows but this wasn't a great first impression. In regards to Lee Chaeyeon I understand the dancers not respecting her as she hasn't done anything to earn it yet. But watching them fangirl over Boa, Taeyong and Daniel while at the same time talking trash about all idols in general is a little sus. Like the one girl said if they pick on her mnet will give them more screen time. Also I don't know how these dancers can earn a living just doing street dancing, most of them get paid by selling choreo to the kpop industry or by performing as backup dancers for idols so it kinda feels like biting the hand that feeds you. Also hating on Noze( No-Zeh) just because she's pretty just makes them all seem jealous. I understand if they don't respect her dancing and think she's on the show just because of her looks but making fun of people for the way they look is a little petty. Yes Lee Jung opened MAMA this year with Somi. Hopefully now your starting to see why Loona and Eunji were so afraid of Monika when she walked in the door. Peanut and Lip J were the highlight of this episode. It's so funny that they chose the same song. Looking at the Hangul for Zsun it looks like Jeh-Tuh-Sun. I guess she's going for zed sun like the Kings English for the letter Z. Loved that move when she was tripped but damn it doesn't seem safe. I feel like if you trip the opponent you should loose the match to prevent injuries from occurring but I don't know anything about actual dance battle rules. With Rihey and Honey J's beef I'm sure there's more to it but everyone being like "oh damn she unfollowed her on social media" is pretty silly. I think Mnet is pretty stupid for blurring out their own No Respect stickers. Like you already showed the TV with all the people who got how many stickers and yet your blurring them out like we don't know what the blurry black stickers with red letters and we can't count how many blurs there are on their shirt. I understand their just playing it up for the camera and to intimidate their opponents but I don't enjoy all the trash talk. I don't watch WWE or MMA or any of that stuff for a reason but I figured with your background you'd probably enjoy it. So looking forward to your reactions for the rest of the show.

i'am fair it's a poll that show win it's ok .but i pass for that show it's a kind of show i can watch only one time when i usualy rewatch with pleasure the other show . like i said i don't like the spirit of that show even if i like the fact than the most popular dance crew shine for the first time . and even if i like dance battle . i really don't like trash talk , bulliyng and harsh comment . you can let shine a dance show without that to me HIT THE STAGE was a better dance show with insane performance and very feel good vibe .

Still have to watch your reaction but I'll add that the after show so ep 11 and 12 are definitely worth watching. You'll learn a lot of what editing has been done and the things that some of the girls have done on purpose because they knew it would go well for tv.

First thing first, I completely understand your sentiments about Kang Daniel. I like seeing him happy and he's always come across as such a genuine guy. As far as people being unhappy with the show choice I haven't seen those comments but I will say that it did lose me a little halfway through with their set up of the challenges not holding my interest but I was excited to see you check it out as a way for me personally to finally finish it. My journey to kpop is through dance. I was a fan of 1million dance studio (I know some people think it's too commercial) in their early days as well as my early days of learning and got to take some classes with some of their instructors. By no means a pro here but an avid fan of dancing. I'm a little more familiar with some of the male choreographer's work but Hyojin Choi is no joke and I hold a soft spoft for her as I've met her in person. She's an amazing dancer. Also, while not all of it is, I will say that a lot of the "disrespect" is put on just for show. Dancers do have a lot of respect for each other's work and a lot of them are friends

Laura

And Seperate post for idol v dancer The thing with comparing idols to professional dancers is actually a very touchy subject in kpop and I've seen quite a few kpop/dance fans get heated about the subject and the few times I've seen some choreographers speak on it they shut the comparison down immediately. I wouldn't say idols are completely disrespected but if you bring an idol in to their world it was bound to get ugly and I will say I did not like how Chaeyeon was treated a lot of times throughout the show. BTW, you may not know that Chaeyeon is often considered one of (and by some the #1) the best dancers in kpop. Her and Lisa often battle it out when fans argue their rankings as far as who's the best and outside of them seeing her as trying to compete with them here a lot dancers do have high praise for her skill as well. Another thing, I don't think they emphasized just how popular Lee Jung is. She's worked with numerous top idols. I imagine a lot of Blackpink fans would recognize her for her work with Lisa for one but she's actually extremely well known. I just wished she would have left picking Chaeyeon as an underdog to the other dancers that were looking for easy attention. She has enough public recognition and should have chose a more accomplished dancer. It came across as a cheap move IMO.

Kiko

BTW Daniel they actually all close friends but they have to pretend that they are 'hate' each other for the show you know MNET EVIL😁😅

After the show has ended they explained it better. It was definitely a bit more complicated than who unfollowed who on social media. Just can't quite remember if I heard it in the SWF after show or if it was in knowing brothers episodes or maybe even both.

Katana123123123

As an extra I want to add as well that you have seen Lee Jung this week too in the Wheein - Easy MV. From what I remember it was from the time Lee Jung was still in Just Jerk Crew alongside Yoon Young who was also in the MV.

Alright, I'm also watching this for the first time, so this should be interesting. I have read up on it on Wikipedia a bit and there are some familiar people appearing in some of the later episodes. Not gonna spoil anything obviously but I'm excited to see that :) - Kang Daniel! Makes sense, dude's an amazing dancer himself. - You feel right at home with the MMA atmosphere, right? - Yup, that's Leejung Lee who did the MAMA performance with Jeon Somi. - Interesting. She made the choreo for Wannabe but her face also reminds me a lot of Lia. Like she could be her older sister. - I wouldn't call butter a particularly fierce thing but aight - OHMYGOD THE TV TURNED ON - Pff, they way they shoved YGX into that corner where they have to step out to see anything - The girl next to Noze looks a lot like Songhee from Bvndit to me. But that isn't her, right? - It's a linear graph: the more you fuck around, the more you're gonna find out. - In terms of idols on shows like this, BM of Kard competed on Be Mbitious which formed one team that went on Street Man Fighter. He didn't get in but there was at least a possibility of another idol on the second season of this format. However, if you do eventually get around to Street Man Fighter, you might see a familiar face because Back Koo-young, the male dance master from GP999 was the leader of one of the teams. But that probably lies in the far future for you. Let's focus on SWF for now. - Form of Therapy is the only other channel I support on Patreon and they haven't checked this show out so far. But they're also mostly a video producer and not so much a dancer. - Damn, Monika is scary even when she's all upbeat and smiley. - And that's when Aiki knew, she fucked up - Oh, this Hwang Sang-hoon did a bunch of SHINee choreos. - Disclaimer: I am no expert on dance, I'm just gonna choose a winner based on which one I enjoyed more on a purely subjective level. And I don't really know any of these people, so there aren't any biases to skew my opinion. For Simeez vs Leejung, I'd pick Simeez as the winner. - But Leejung winning is totally fair too. - Leejung vs Chaeyeon: I'd give Leejung the edge here. Chaeyeon did great but her origins in idol dance are obvious even to me. That's not a bad thing at all but it seems like it's a different style of dance than this kind of show calls for. - The „controversy“ is that Lachica and Hook both created a choreo for Refund Sisters and Hook's choreo was chosen for the final song in the end. That's it. - Gabee vs Aiki: This easily goes to Aiki. Gabee took an unnecessary risk with trying to take off her pants and it blew up in her face. - I wouldn't have let them rematch. I've talked about the German dance show Let's Dance a few times here. When a contestant on that show messes up, they don't get a redo. They have to recover in the middle of the performance or face the consequences of a much lower score. But no second chances. And the contestants on Let's Dance aren't professional dancers. Gabee is. She must have known that this can happen and decided to do it anyway. - Even in the rematch, Aiki is the clear winner for me. The way she busts out actual latin dance moves (I think it's Salsa but I could be wrong) while Gabee just runs up the stairs to shake her head around and do nothing interesting, makes this an easy decision for me. - Oh come on, that's bullshit. - I kinda love how Kang Daniel doesn't even have a designated spot to stand/sit in and just moves around the stage during the battles. - Yell vs Zsun: Ah fuck, this one could really go either way. I guess I preferred Zsun? But they're really damn close for me. - Yeah, I can see why the judges can't choose. And this is a rematch I can get behind because this is purely based on their equal skill levels. - Oh man, and even in the rematch I can't pick. Yell took an early lead by going into the middle immediately but the way Zsun saved that fall was amazing. But Yell spinning out of the attempted hug. Ahh. I really don't know. Good thing it's not up to me to decide the winner 😅 - Yeah, I'm fully down with Zsun winning this one. But I would have been down with Yell winning too, so my words don't really matter here - Oh fuck that is BOLD going for Monika like that. She's the complete opposite of an underdog. - I appreciate the different atmosphere. Even the one non-Korean competition show I watch, Let's Dance, has much more comraderie with the biggest animosity actually existing between the contestants and the strictest of the three judges. I don't watch martial arts so this feels quite fresh to me. - Zsun vs Monika: Monika wins this. It's not even close. - What can I say. Zsun fucked around and proceeded to find out. Simple as that. - Peanut vs Lip J: Lip J for me. But it's very easy to impress me with good waacking :D - Damn, the rematch looks like they're dancing with each other, not against each other. This one, I can't pick a winner. - Yeah, based on the first round, I'm glad that Lip J won. But I'm especially glad to see the good sportswomanship between her and Peanut. Gotta say, they're doing a great job at hyping me up for the Rihey vs Honey J battle.

- "Was Lee Jung the one with Somi on MAMA?". Yes. - "Only their fans like them". I think that means you either like them or hate them. Or only if you know them (personally) you'll like them, so not good at getting new fans, possibly. - Those tattoo-bandaids only covering a part of them are funny. It's so useless imo. - That "Hey" and "Hey" between Lip J and Gabee really became very popular. You might see some idols use it. I think in Queendom there already was an instance. - I wished that a person could only be picked once. - Seeing that Aiki funny performance makes me wish for a collab with Fik-Shun :D - "Will the judges be different each episode?". No. - "That could have ended badly". Exactly. Totally unsafe imo, and you could see it coming as well (like you mentioned about that high kick). I think it was a bad idea for this setup, to dance/battle together at the same time. - So now we have 2 winners: 1 who takes off as much clothes as possible and shows her ass as much as possible, and number 2 who won by showing her ass to the judges. And this while their opponents were actually dancing: Aiki danced latin and Yell danced b-boy. For the judges to make these decisions just signaled to me that they'd rather choose sensation/hype over actual dancing. - Peanut vs Lip J was the highlight for sure. I enjoyed every second of it. Also very nice of Monika to cheer Peanut on.

The obvious problem is that, for the pro dancers, they spend ALL of their time dancing. Idols have to split their time between dancing, singing, fan service, etc. Idols also don't get experience doing battles. I would compare it to one of the pro dancers entering into a ballet competition, or going on stage for two hours and having to sing, dance, interact with the crowd, etc. They might be able to do it, but they'd be outside of their area of expertise and they would probably look bad comparatively. I wonder why Chaeyeon chose to do this, she must have known all of this. I also wonder what part her company had in this - did they just say "O.K", did they encourage her, order her? She didn't seem very confident coming in.

KyrainMcLeod

I really love the show the girls put on. I have seen Aiki in several entertainment shows, she's super nice, really funny and sometimes a bit overwhelmed YGX had a very fun interview with Jessi, and while they are as loud and chaotic and confident as shown here, they seem to be all about having fun. Gabbee has a youtube series together with the male MC from Queendom2. They are absolutely funny and adorable. Also, she was on Chuu can do it. Holy Bang are also friends with Chuu. There's an episode were they tried Chuu to be "sexy". It was hilarious. As much as I love Chuu, that girl is not build for "sexy" 😅. They are not nearly as intense as they "play" here. Except Monika... I have never seen her not being intense...

Laura

Oh no I absolutely agree on why there are inherent differences between idols and dancers and I think for the most part any argument on whether idols are on the same level is mainly between the fans only which is why I also agree that it's a little odd that Chaeyeon did this. I can admit marketing is not my forte so I'll accept that maybe her company had a reason for pushing her in this direction but considering she's known as such an amazing idol dancer I feel like putting her in this situation tarnishes that image a bit.
