Have a lovely weekend guys, thank you for the support!

Uuh, seeing Jeongyeon with the bandage on her neck always hurts my soul.

This 1st episode of TTT is kinda timid and shy. But when the shows goes on they are so chaotic and loud..

I read somewhere that she was at the hospital and had some procedure done regarding her neck, is that true? Before that, I thought she might've pulled something or that it was a minor injury of sorts.

2023-03-25 10:26:53 This is true. Jeongyeon has had neck problems going all the way to her trainee days. If you were to look hard enough online, there are videos of her in the old JYP dance practice room with one of those heating patches on her neck as a trainee. During the More & More, it was really bad and she had a minor procedure to help alleviate her neck pain to get her through promotions but it just wasn't enough. I think she finally had more major corrective surgery during the Eyes Wide Shut/I Can't Stop Me era because that's when she started her first hiatus and was seen with a brace on the Vlives at the time. She was supposed to take a few months off for recovery. However, the medication as part of that recovery (steroidal) causes weight gain, which started affecting her confidence. She eventually developed anxiety being on stage because she didn't want to be seen that way. Her hiatus was extended to give her time to address her mental health crisis. It seems like she received therapy and medication for that, which also has the unfortunate side effect of putting on weight. Throughout 2021, whenever you see her in promotions, either Jihyo or Nayeon (her oldest friends in Twice) are nearby to hold her hand to support her when her anxiety spiked. She did come back for the Taste of Love/Alcohol-Free promotions, but I think that spiked her anxiety again into a second hiatus until the World Tour. She ended up missing the opening concert in Seoul for their World Tour, but showed up for the US concerts in early 2022. There are TW-LOG (Twice vlogs) for each member from the tour and you can see how nervous she was before the first concert, but as time goes on, she seems to find her balance and was really enjoying herself by the end. I really think the screaming welcome she received at each stop helped bolster her self-confidence again and reassure her that Onces wanted to see her on stage again; that as long as she was healthy, that was all that mattered. She seems to have returned to activities fully in 2022, appearing in all the Time to Twices and participated fully in Between 1&2 promotions earlier in the year. Her health journey for the last couple of years happened just as I was becoming a Once. I came in when Mina was still in her hiatus, so it was tough to see her go through her own struggles just as she finally settled as my (first) Twice bias. I'm glad to see her healthy and happy now.

I never got the whole story. Thanks for writing this all down. Jeongyeon has always been one of my favorite members. I always thought she had a protective and comfy aura, her few pounds more right now just strengthen this impression.
