I was just thinking of repeating this drama so, this time I'll repeat it here hahaha, it's one of my favorite Korean dramas that even though it wasn't so well received in Korea, it was well received internationally. It has an excellent message, watching this drama like this feels like watching it with a friend. I really enjoyed this video's reaction

- Apart from Snowdrop, your Kdrama journey is starting to mirror mine. Hotel del Luna was my first and right after that I started It's Okay. - Full transparency, I did change my vote Flower of Evil to It's Okay in the initial poll because I knew there was no way Flower of Evil was gonna win. Next time I will be voting for Vincenzo though because I have now seen 14 out of the 20 episodes and omg it's even better than Flower of Evil. - The translation for Squid Game is actually good if you're watching with the correct subtitles (the ones that do NOT say „CC“). It's the dub everyone was rightfully complaining about. - My comment was mostly about shows like Vincenzo and Squid Game. Seems like It's Okay never got an English dub, thus no CC. It's honestly better that way :D - Oh, Studio Dragon. They also did Vincenzo, that's why the logo is immediately familiar to me. - The Korean title is 사이코지만 괜찮아 which literally translates to „Psycho but it's okay“. I'll leave you to find out what that means in regards to the show. - I love the way it starts. The stop motion just grabs your attention right from the start. - Gordon Ramsay would call that raw. - The fucking creativity on this show, holy shit I forgot - That one nurse who was sitting at the reception is played by former fromis_9 member Jang Gyuri. She left the group a little while ago, probably to focus more on her acting career. - I mean... I wouldn't be completely opposed to getting hit on by Kim Soo-hyun 👀 - The assistant looks familiar because she had a guest appearance in Hotel del Luna. Remember that fictional character that manifested into reality? That's her. - „She's insane“ said the man who wanted to commit murder-suicide with his daugther. - So these messages you see on the bridge. It's supposed to be a form of suicide prevention. Korea has a very high rate and many do it by jumping off a bridge. Putting encouraging words there is sort of a last ditch effort from the government to prevent people from jumping. I don't believe it's very effective though. - Jaesu is a great character, I really like him :) - „Never forget today“ Yeah, I bet she won't. - If you think this book is intense, boy let me tell you about German fairytales. Shit's fucked up. And my mum read them to me as bedtime stories. - My guy, this is episode one and you're already complimenting her eyes? Bold. - There is one thing in this episode that completely recontextualized by knowing how the show ends. I won't tell you what it is of course but it's very interesting to see this again with that knowledge. - For character names and actors I recommend this page: https://asianwiki.com/It%27s_Okay_to_Not_Be_Okay It has portraits of the actors in their roles so it's easier to identify them by their faces. I'm not sure if you can get yourself spoiled there, so be careful. It's way better than Wikipedia though because I know there are MASSIVE spoilers on Wikipedia. I love this show even more than Hotel del Luna. Very excited to rewatch it and see what you think.

You know the female assistant (played by Park Jin-joo) from Hotel Del Luna (where she had a prominent guest role in episode 8). You've also seen the male lead (played by Kim Soo Hyun) in Hotel Del Luna. He is the "new owner" at the end of the series ("Hotel Blue Moon"). He is a very popular actor in Korea and his cameo in Hotel Del Luna was a big surprise. "It's Okay..." the year after "Hotel Del Luna" was his first main role since finishing his military service. The show had hype around it, because of his return. The female lead (played by Seo Yea Ji) was still fairly unknown at that point. As for post credit scenes: There are only two left. Episode 3 (which has no preview) has one, which is worth watching. Episode 6 has a short skit at the end (sadly after the preview, so be careful to skip the preview). As for subtitles: "English [CC]" are known to be bad some times (see "Squid Game"). But the normal "English" subtitles are usually good (enough). They are certainly more consistent acceptable than other streaming services like Rakuten Viki (which uses the fan community for these subtitles and can be quite hit and miss). And yeah... "It's Okay..." is very popular (still one of the highest rated K-Dramas of "all times", nominated for an international emmy and won multiple important awards in asia). It was the first big international hit show for K-Dramas on Netflix (after the year before "Hotel Del Luna" already got some attention on Netflix). In a sense their success made Netflix finally go all in on K-Dramas. The rest is history with "Squid Game" following one year later. Nowadays there is a flood of good new K-Dramas like "Vincenco" or "Extraordinary Attourney Woo" every year. Very happy that you already liked the first episode (which i would consider the "weakest", although still very good). I usually suggest to watch at least the first two episodes for this show, to get a sense on what the show is really about. Glad you're already in. :)

I rewatched this show around 20 times at this point with different reactors and it never gets old :D "It's Okay" is my favorite K-Drama and I watched it before Hotel Del Luna but both of these shows fit perfectly together in any order. I would describe this show as: "Tim Burton meets Amelie (a french cult romance) meets Mental Health meets K-Drama crazyness" I'm from Germany btw and I can agree that these old german fairytales (The Brothers Grimm from the 19th-century) can be pretty dark and fucked up. The Grimms' tales have provided much of the early foundation on which Disney built its empire. They're kinda the "true" fairy tales, not the lighthearted fluffy tales that we see nowadays. The fairy tales in "It's Okay" are in the tradition of these older fairy tales. ;-)

This show is an emotional rollercoaster, I remember crying a lot throughout, especially during the later episodes. The acting is too real and the writing too good :') I'm looking forward to crying some more while rewatching this with you lmao. I already made a mental note for myself that you will be finishing the show 20th February 2023, since I'm guessing you're going to be uploading one episode each Monday.

My first ever K-drama. 💚 I’ve seen so many since, but this is the one I’ve seen the most. I’ll put it on on my phone and put my phone in my pocket and just listen to it while I do other stuff. I remember every scene and almost everything everyone is saying from memory, it’s like ASMR for me now or something. I hope you enjoy, and hopefully people don’t allude to too much stuff in the comments, I’ve noticed people are kind of bad about that for a few reactors I follow unfortunately. Especially recently. Personally I wouldn’t recommend looking anything up about this show, whether it be history or cast or anything. Not until afterwards, at least. That’s my usual method anyway, just in case. I’m actually going to watch the video now. 🤓

I agree especially with the "be careful for spoilers" warning. This show benefits from you knowing nothing about it. Comments under reactions can go to far (sometimes just out of pure excitement) and ruin the experience a bit. Personally I don't even like comments like "can't wait for you to see episode X" since it prepares you, that episode X might be something "crazy" and therefore colors your experience before you see it. So I hope we all will strictly limit ourselves to what happens to the episodes already watched in the reaction without foreshadowing or spoiling stuff for future episodes.

Hi Daniel..why I only can hear the voice ?

What do you mean? It's not showing you the video, just audio? Try to refresh the page possibly, it should all be working, there shouldn't be any issues at all.

My first time watching the show too. I like it. The dark perspective is fascinating. I don't know that I'm gong to wait for you to post next week episode watch though. :) Might just binge it this weekend. I'm a little puzzled about those children's stories though. As a parent I could never imagine letting my kids read something so dark so young.

- The votes went from 8% to 24%? Rigged!! :p Just kidding, this show is great (too). - "Why does she look so familiar?". Like Guthwulf said, the female assistant is played by Jin-Joo. You know her from that episode from Hotel Del Luna with the repeating record player. The spirit that was kept 'alive' by the diary, letters and records. You also pointed out back then that there was something weird about her. It's probably because she has a very unique face, mainly because her eyes are pretty far apart. She actually is hilarious and it recently turned out that she has a great singing voice as well (was on Hangout With Yoo). - Those "children"'s books, and some other elements/characters, really remind me of a great anime called "Monster". If you ever get into anime I can definitely recommend that series. - The song at the end was done by Heize, and the title is "You're cold". Heize is a great singer with a unique voice that suits OST's. She has also done a Killing Voice episode. Those are great to get to know an artist but you do get to hear parts of songs which might spoil the fun for you. She can also rap and participated in an Unpretty Rapstar season. - I think you will do fine with the names. And otherwise it's okay to not be okay.

This might be my favorite show of all time, of any genre or country. I cannot wait to watch the rest of it alongside you and see how you feel once its done. I loved Attorney Woo, but I haven't found another show that compares to this one, for me anyways. Signed up specifically to enjoy this with you :)
