DG remember the judges are judging in terms of perfection and picking groups that can perform in prime time on televisioin since that's the prize one of the winning teams could get. Yes the teams mistakes aren't that bad in terms of the show but as far as the eventual group being formed and them performing on M Countdown those mistakes can make or break the performances or later the groups. You've watched tons more shows by the time I'm commenting this and I'm sure someone else has said something similar but just to put that other perspective out there for yoou to consider if no one else has put it out there. I totally agree on the editing though. As a fellow editor it was either hilarious or annoying. Queendom Puzzle's editing is worse though with evil editing for a few contestants.

Regarding the singing mistakes in particular they really do bug me as much as they bug the masters/judges. I think it's just the more finely tuned your ear is the more the mistakes stand out and ruin the performance or make it disappointing.

indeed it is very hard to shine on a song like FIESTA it shows how IZ*ONE was a very talented group the song and the choreography are difficult for trainee idols. but I find that despite the pressure they gave an honorable performance. of course vocally it was very chaotic but they are there to learn from their mistakes. but see that these girls train to death as if their lives were at stake which actually makes us appreciate KPOP even more.

DG again you're right that's the spirit of idols in Korea. everyone works hard that's the modjo or the asian mindset in general. so it's not enough like everyone works hard if you want to stand out you have to work even harder. And it's even more true for trainees who learn slowly. some idols are gifted and have it in their blood, others have to work 12 or 13 hours a day to get there, for example an idol group can learn a choreography in 2 or 3 days, some idols like SEULGI, YOOA, LISA or SOMI can learn choreography in 1 afternoon and some idols will take 10 days. the most important thing is not to give up.

Bora's vocals always amaze me (from team 1 of Fifth Season). There's a reason she's one of the main vocalist of Cherry Bullet. Also fun facts she was V's partner in BTS LOVE YOURSELF Highlight Reel. And Yuju an other member of Cherry Bullet was Jin's partner.

- I said it already but I think taking the week off was the right call here. Crowd crushes like this unfortunately do happen from time to time. The Itaewon disaster reminds me a lot of what happened here in Germany in 2010. A similar situation occurred at the Loveparade festival in Duisburg, just north of where I live. The festival was massively overcrowded and way too many people tried to get out through the only exit that was way too small. Although „only“ 21 people died, there were a lot more people injured, at least 652. So yeah, even though Itaewon is so far away, the situation felt weirdly close to home. - I noticed you got yourself some new headphones. How are you liking them? - Do I like festivals? Well, if they're like MIK in that they actually give their artists proper set times longer than 20 minutes, then yes :D - Here we see why rest is just as important as practice. - Consider, the high note was sung by Jo Yuri in the original, one of the absolute best vocalists of this generation and the third place winner out of 96 contestans on Produce 48. Of course most people would struggle with it. And considering Miyu's condition she did about as well as she could have. - Bahiyyih alread proving herself here, love to see it. - I am very sure the judges had more to say but obviously Mnet won't show it. - I was gonna say, how the fuck does Fiesta remind you of Kitchen Nightmares 😂 - Do I even need to say it? Red team won and it was not even close. - The interim evaluations are so important. I really think it was that feedback that pushed this team to this level we see right here. - I sometimes forget that Bora isn't the leader of Cherry Bullet because she is doing such an awesome job here and has amazing presence. - Bora ALWAYS hits her notes. I can personally attest to that, I saw her in London. - And just because you get good feedback in the interim, doesn't mean you can relax. - Fully with you there, Liang Qiao's progress is amazing. - I noticed that they shortened the song, taking out the entire second verse and chorus. I guess the original Fifth Season was just too long for this sort of competition at a full four minutes. - Yup, the white team was a bit better than the black team but neither were perfect. Ooooooh, here we GO! - NOOO STOP IT WITH THE BABY SHARK AAAAAAAAAA - Oh. Oh no. - „You can stop now.“ Words you never want to hear in this situation. - The short haired girl you like is Wang Yale. She's doing really well here for sure. - But for me, An Jeongmin is the one that owned this performance. - There is still room for improvement but after that absolute disaster of an interim evaluation, this is an amazing step up. - The song arrangement is actually exactly the same as the original Mic Drop. It's just that the more exciting Steve Aoki Remix is the one everybody knows. - Changing formations in the middle of practice throws a wrench into things but I understand why Sunmi wanted to see Myah in that part. - I kinda see it! Also with that red hair that Umji has been rocking since Queendom, there is a resemblance. Btw, they finally released the full MV for Viviz' Rum Pum Pum, so I can actually listen to this song now. I really hate how Universe always just releases half a music video first. - I love this just as much as the original by Seventeen, god damn. - The EVE! Can we just appreciate how stacked that group is? Fu Yaning, Shana from Lapillus, Sheon from Billlie, Su Ruiqi, Hikaru, Jeong Jiyoon, just to name the ones that really stick out to me. - A lot of very good but also VERY competitive girls here. Maybe to a fault. They're all really good individually but many still have to learn what it means to be part of a team. It's good that Dayeon could speak out for herself here. - The Eve takes this round for me. You're starting to understand why I'm lowkey obsessed with a lot of the Chinese contestants, right? - I have no issues with Team Pretty U winning but still, the judges' feedback on The Eve confuses me and I don't really see what they're talking about. - Next week, get ready for an agonizingly long episode of ONLY eliminations and nothing else. You know how Mnet likes to really draw out their results? Well guess how fucking long they're gonna take with announcing the FORTY-FIVE girls who won't make it? Well, I guess they were doing it the other way round, announcing the 54 girls who do make it. E.B.S groups are a textbook case. the group "PRETTY YOU" knew how to exchange the killing parts for the good of the groups because it is an evaluation of groups, and they made a very good performance. the MIC DROP group is much improved but still remains below the other 2 and the "EVE" group is the case of schools where you bring together all the most talented and charismatic members but where all the members play individually and lose at the end. on paper the group EVE win easily but in fact they lose. at the time I was sure that FU YA NING was going to have learned from the first evaluations and succeed in uniting and winning his team but it was not that yet.

back in a day i was sure than SU RU QUI and FUYA NING will end in a line up of KEP1ER with HIKARU ,YOUNGEUN , DAYEON ,XIAOTING and MASHIRO or at least one of them probably more SU RU QUI. but the all EVE team could be a group and debut right after the show that how good they are little bit "to" confidente but still good .

To be completely honest, I'm happy that Su Ruiqi and Fu Yaning didn't debut in kepler. As for me they looks more girl crush or dark concert idols, so not sure if they naturally fit in current Kepler concept. But looks like both girls doing well with their solo songs and have chance to show why they're basically aces

I agree, that's one of the biggest take-aways for me, makes you realize how difficult it is, what could go wrong, etc. - team 1 slayed that. It became more and more powerful. Especially the harmonies were great as well as Ye Seo and Sun Woo. The 5th season - "I really like this song". You and me both. OMG is great. YooA actually came back TODAY with 2 new MV's! Pretty U - Everything was great! The lower/rap parts were strong, the vocals were very stable and good, the dance, the chemistry, and most of all the energy! The Eve - "Did everyone get the part they wanted?" What a dumb question. Chances of that are slim to none. - I've rewatched this performance a lot because I fell in love with Jiyoon's voice right here. So I might be a bit biased but seeing this whole episode again I feel she was done a little dirty. Judge says "They have such amazing singers" "Shana sings phenomenally" --> brings the focus of the amazing singerS (plural) to Shana. This is immediately followed by awesome vocals which are actually Jiyoon's. This is weird cause they were talking about Shana right? So you are expecting Shana's great vocals. Jiyoon's vocals are followed by Shana's vocals effectively doubling the time you are thinking about Shana's vocals. And to finish it off they pull the same trick: the judges saying "The singing is to die for" "Shana's no joke" --> So once more tying the "singing" to "Shana" while in the end "Jiyoon" doesn't get mentioned at all (as well as the other singers). You yourself reacted by saying Shana's fantastic, which I agree with, but if I would've asked you who Jiyoon was, would you've known? I sure didn't at this point. Heck, I was surprised she was in the top 9. - "All of them did phenomenal". I 100% agree. My favourite performance of GP999. Judges were nitpicking. Not to say they were wrong but come on. - And once again, the judge single out Shana for her singing, or maybe MNet just selected the clip of a judge pointing out Shana's singing. Either way, the other great singers weren't mentioned leaving "Shana" in the heads of the voters. As always, looking forward to the next episode.

Fiesta: love Mashiro and Yeseo. I really love Mashiro as a leader and they got a good edit with teaching huang xing qiao. The Fifth Season: Queen Bora. Need I say more? In all seriousness the harmony high note at the end was definitely better in the practice than in the actual performance, but if mnet didn't show that part of the practice the voters wouldn't have known that it was slightly less excellent than they were capable of. Mic Drop: I really grew to like An Jeongmin here. The group was clearly struggling and their leader literally got zero screen time. So after the midterm she stood up and took charge and lead the team to become the one of the most improved teams in the round. Pretty You: Myah is so adorable! The girl who had the killing part was good but she didn't have the aura or star quality that Myah has so I agreed with Sunmi that they should switch parts. I'm glad they let the other girl decide whether to switch parts or not. The Eve: Definitely the most packed group in terms of talent. I did not like You Dayeon in this episode. She picked 2 of the most stacked cells in the show and was shocked when they took charge. If you want to win pick the strongest members for your team but if you want to stand out pick members around your skill level. Was anyone surprised when Fu Yaning volunteered to be the leader? Apparently You Dayeon was so much so that she forgot to raise her hand even though she clearly wanted to be the leader so much. If she also volunteered to be the leader I think she would have gotten it since she is a debuted idol with experience and formed the team which is a better than just being the oldest in my opinion. When she had her breakdown in front of the the judges I didn't sympathize with her at all. She had multiple opportunities to talk to her team members but instead went and whined to the judges. Thank god Kim Suyeon spoke up and politely asked if they could rearrange the parts. Anyway my thoughts on the actual performance was I loved it. Su Rui Qi was my favorite C line member, and yes she was doing Kai's part and she even wanted to do Baekhyun's part too :). Kim Suyeon really stood out even with such a small part. Overall I agree with the judges though. Some of the facial expressions were a little too much, they're expectations were set higher because the team had the highest density of talented members, and they didn't feel like a team. I would have voted for The Eve to win though even with all that said because I still feel it was a better performance than the others. The Pretty You team had the best teamwork, and I'm biased towards EXO so I totally understand how it could be up to personal preference and respect the choice for Pretty You team to get the win. DG I'm curious to know who you'd be voting for if you were watching this live and didn't know Kepler, or just who you're hoping to see more of in this show and hope makes it past the eliminations? Sorry for the long post :)

Why on earth does mnet split the song into 10 parts for 9 member groups!? They didn't do that in produce right or did they? If you get the killing part why would you also get another part?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was mega rooting for Dayeon, when this show aired literally everyone hated her because of the way she spoke up all the time during this mission, saying she was "selfish" and stuff, like im sorry but this is a COMPETITION WITH 99 GIRLS IN IT, I would do the same exact thing. The way Mnet painted her here is why she got eliminated and it makes me so upset.

Love the new headphones btw, it's the same ATH M50s I had back in 2011 only this time they're also wireless, but the comfort and wired quality is exactly the same, thankfully I didn't choose the white set this time, cause after a year, they did not look so good hehe. The more I read your comments the more I'd advocate for you to start a reaction channel haha! Damn, sounds like next week is not gonna be as fun :(

Yeah now that you mention it, it did seem a bit weird with the whole Shana situation, but then again the whole reaction by the Judges to The Eve was so weird in general, it threw me off so freakin' much.

I have actually thought about it but I just don't have the time man! I'm a full time college student with a job on top of that. And it's already hard enough to keep up with all the releases without taking the extra time to react to them. I just binged the entirety of Vincenzo in about a week. Wouldn't be able to do that with a reaction channel 😅

lbut in fact if like i said FU YA NING , SU RU QUI , XIAOTING , YOUNGEUN ,IKARU , DAYEON , MASHIRO and YUJIN for exemple as been in a final line up that will be for sure a girl groups concept . and that the point with that kind of show we still had a serious doubt about how the producer think . if they just build a concept depending of the winner that could be both a girl crush or a cute girl group concept . but if they chose to push on the spotlight some idols more than other like many people think it's because they already have an idea of concept and what kind of girls they want . if they want build a group with a cute concept of course they can chose trainee , like YESEO ,BAHYIIYH ,MYAH , RIRIKA ,CHAEHYUN etc... but if they want a girl crush they can chose most of the chinese trainee .
