Oh you should've SEEN when this show aired Fu Yaning was getting SLAUGHTERED by twitter because of what she said to Yujin, pretty much destroyed any chance she had of making it in Korea with that

Damn, I knew to look for it, and yet I still fell for the evil editing because I got so hyped for the Yujin/Fu Yaning thing, and now I feel so bad for Fu Yaning :(

Here we go! Can't wait to get unreasonably angry at Mnet again 😃 - Pay attention to how much time will have passed before they play the intro in the coming episodes. It gets ridiculous. - Sorry, I just speak German and English. - This does make me wonder when/if Kep1er will have a Chinese debut. I wouldn't bet on it since Xiaoting is the only Chinese member that made it in but one can still hope. - YURINAAA - There we go! I did tell you under the first episode of Hotel del Luna that he was the MC for this show. - I think in the context of this show we should refer to him by his real name, Yeo Jin-goo 😄 - I mean, put me in a room with two people who speak neither German nor English and it's gonna be just as awkward. Actually, that does happen as part of my job and I have to somehow figure out what it is they want from me and how to help them 😅 - Just gotta say, that first Japanese girl is Kawaguchi Yurina. She was one of my top favourites on this show and I REALLY wanted her to debut with Kep1er. Obviously she didn't make it but she did end up debuting solo in Japan :) - Oh my god, it's PEOPLE! - They just skipped over Youngeun's introduction. - There's Chaehyun! - Shin-chan is a very popular anime character I think. - AYO, Yeseo! - MASHIRO! Yes, I am going to call out everyone I recognize. - Ah, I see Su Ruiqi 👀 - Seungeun from BVNDIT! She is their main dancer, so it makes sense they put her in that category. - Ohh, Wen Zhe. My favourite Chinese girl who didn't make it. Well, apart from Fu Yaning that is. - Welcome our allrounders: Shana from Lapillus, Sheon from Billlie (going by her real name Suyeon here) and Fu Yaning! I love Fu Yaning. A lot. - And there's May from Cherry Bullet. - Man, Mnet already starting to do my girl Fu Yaning dirty here. - YOON JIA. One of my favourite Koreans who didn't win. But she did debut in mimiirose recently :) - But man, they really have to scrape the barrel to find similarities for some of these groups. - Mint chocolate tastes like toothpaste. But I still like it 😁 - YUJIN HELLO. - And they just skip over the Japanese girl with an album, alright. - They're singing Into The New World, the debut song from Girls' Generation. An absolutely legendary song. Some might even consider it Korea's second national anthem. - Wait, isn't that Bora from Cherry Bullet? - Well, I guess I got my answer. - THAT SONG IS FUCKING AMAZING I ACTUALLY CRIED WHEN I HEARD LOVE SO SWEET LIVE. Ahem, sorry. But yeah, Love So Sweet by Cherry Bullet is another song you can add to your ever growing list ;) - I recognize a wild Cai Bing. - Kim Doah is one of the „Pretty Girls“. She's a member of Fanatics. And I have no fucking idea what is going on with that group right now. They recently deleted ALL of their social media. - Hikaru, Xiaoting and Dayeon. I don't think they need any introduction, right? - Ah, there's Bahiyyih. - 99 people. And only 9 make it into Kep1er. - It does make me wonder why Kep1er didn't stick with this planetary theme. That was the whole shtick with this show. - You know what's crazy about Yeo Jin-goo? This guy is only a year older than me. He's 25. Which means he was only 21 years old when Hotel del Luna was filmed. IU was 25 at the time. - Don't worry, there are no HdL spoilers in this show. - Man, I love Wen Zhe so much. (She's the Chinese girl with the thick eyebrows btw) - Don't worry Bahiyyih, you'll make it. - 9 is actually a lower number than usual. On Produce 101 Season 1 and 2 it was 11 people who debuted, Produce 48 debutet 12 and Produce X 101 went back to 11 (who disbanded prematurely without a comeback, rip X1) - Sure, having a bias in this instance is normal. But also do keep in mind that I will be simping heavily for Yurina, Wen Zhe and Fu Yaning. If Kep1er had been a 12 member group like IZ*ONE, these three would be the ones I would have added. And Suyeon too I guess but she's amazing in Billlie, so I'm all good with her not winning. - Just gonna casually plug Tiffany Young's solo music here, Magnetic Moon and Run For Your Life are such amazing songs. But I need more, she hasn't released anything in three years! - Same, Yenny, same. - With the judges comes the part where you have to be extremely weary of Mnet's editing. - And the judges know what snakes Mnet are. - Form a new cell with complete strangers! At least they get to see everyone perform first. - That Choi Hyerin girl looks like Yiren from Everglow. Who also participated in Produce 48 before Everglow was formed btw. - Keep people watching longer by teasing highlights. But could you imagine if they did that in movies? Just show a trailer for the second half right in the middle of the movie? - What, are we in prison? Well, we are in an Mnet show, same thing. - Xiaoting is pronounced like shouting. - Oh yeah, and reaction cuts and replays are way more annoying here than on Queendom/Kingdom. - You know what, I'm going to compile the MVs for the songs performed here as well but I'm going to put it under each episode rather than dumping it all out at the very end. - Well, Xiaoting did great. Yes, they will really focus on the mistakes. But it could be worse. There's a part in Produce 48 that makes me ANGRY because of how fucked up the editing was and how they essentially bullied that contestant out of the show and completely destroyed all of her confidence, even though her mistake wasn't that bad. - Commence the Yurina simping. - Ah but this group also has Kishida Ririka who recently debuted in ILY:1 along three other contestants from this show. - Nizi Project formed NiziU as you can probably imagine. I heard good things about that show and I really like NiziU, so I gotta check it out some day. - I just realised that Hayase Hana IS one of the other ILY:1 girls. Whoops 😅 - Do you understand why I wanted Yurina to win so bad? She is acing this Fancy performance! - Chaehyun was 23rd? That seems wrong, looking at where she is now. - She's in too deep. Some may call it foolishness. I call it persistance that paid off. - And that's the other side. Many just never debut, no matter how long they train. - Suyeon's agency being Mystic Story I guess. It seems like Billlie was planned to debut way earlier with her in the lineup but Covid threw a wrench into those plans. But hey, she's there now. - Dayeon really has been going on for a long time. She was in Produce 48 as well. - I was curious about this Lee Yunji, so I looked her up and guess what? She's another one of the ILY:1 members. Going by the stage name Ara now. - Considering that Chaehyun is in Kep1er, these little mistakes really don't matter. - Ayy, Youngeun! And Yoon Jia! - Jia is just standing there like „wtf are u doing“ - LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO SOME NEW THANGS, NEW THANGS - But with a team name like that they should have done Hot Sauce by NCT Dream. - I was honestly ready for them to do Taeyong's doubletime rap but that would probably have been too difficult. - This Kick It performance is legendary, people are still talking about it to this day. I'm so glad that Jia got to debut recently. - You'll get Xiaoting's name right by the end of the show, I'm optimistic :) - Time to see what Mashiro brings. - There is a possible timeline where Mashiro is an Itzy member. - Keep in mind, they're not going to show every performance in full. You'll have to look it up on Youtube if you want to see everything. - It IS Shana from Lapillus! - okAY HIKARU YOU CAN STOP FLEXING - Ayo Sein, don't put disrespect on Hikaru. - If anything, she should remind you of someone in Billlie because that's who she is ;) - I like Seungeun's reactions a lot. - It's the song that got me into this genre! - No XG members were involved in the making of Girls Planet 999 - Ehh, Sunmi was still involved in the decision, soo... - Tiffany is absolutely a Kpop master but her solo work is all in English and VERY western in style. Magnetic Moon is not a Kpop song and that's not just down to the language. It's all in the genre. - Guinn Myah is to my knowledge the youngest contestant. When this show aired, she just turned 15. - They talked about Yeseo's insanely long career on Queendom 2 as well. Remember how she's technically a senior even to Hyolyn? - As a reminder, 4minute is Hyuna's group. That was ruined by Cube's incompetence but is that really a surprise? - You could say that was crazy. (G)I-DLE also did an amazing Relay Dance cover of this song. - Oh shit, I remember these two. - You know, with the right music and editing, this could turn from cute to creepy REAL fast. - They're doing the song that Dardove has been trying to get you to react to for probably a year now. - „Why does everything that Sunmi does look so seductive?“ My friend, you have seen the Tail MV. You shouldn't be surprised at this point. - They were filming ridiculous hours, no wonder they're falling asleep. - Honestly girl, same. - Tough love. It's what many of them need. - Love Shot choreo so iconic, you can recognize it by one move - Oh fuck, it's the unit with most of my favourite Chinese girls. - Chang Ching is the last one of the ILY:1 members from GP999. Goes by the stage name Rona now. - Also, I will not stop talking about Fu Yaning and Wen Zhe. Cai Bing too if we're honest. - Weird because Wen Zhe is such a smiley goofball these days. - From what I know, the whole „We go up but you don't“ thing was scripted. Mnet told Yaning to say that to stir up drama. And unfortunately it had a massive negative impact on Yaning's image. Others have already commented on that. And this will not be the only time Mnet tries to sabotage the Chinese contestants. - Yujin and Yaning have actually become friends because of this show, don't worry :) - Ok I admit, my crush on Wen Zhe is mostly down to her personality in the later episodes, not necessarily amazing vocals 😅 - Now Sunmi is like „you wanna fight?“ - Remember, the producers told her to act this way. This is not how Fu Yaning really is. - Yujin being from CLC was so important on GP999, and then on Queendom 2 they act like CLC never existed. - „And the song itself was great“ Yeah you say that because it's your song, right? 👀 - But for all the bullshit that Mnet are trying to pull (especially with the Chinese girls), I still have a lot of fun watching this. And it feels very different now, watching this as a Kep1er fan. Holy shit, it seems like I have a lot to say about this show 😂
