- Aight, just made myself a bangin sandwich and I'm ready for some Mamamoo shenanigans! - Ah, language barriers. This is also why I believe that my favourite book series (Die Känguru-Chroniken) is not translatable. Sure, a portion of it would work in other languages but there are quite a few chapters and sections that are so specific, not just to German culture and history, but also to the German language itself. In the first book there is an entire chapter dedicated to driving sentence structures to their absolute grammatical extremes. And this doesn't work when you translate it into English for example because English obviously has some very different grammar rules. Or the third book, where a bunch of the chapters are in half English, half German. That language divide is important to the story for one thing but it's also used to tell jokes that are only possible by combining both languages. The entire second half of the third book wouldn't work at all in an English translation. It doesn't have anything to do with Mamamoo directly, I just thought of this little parallel here. - I always watch MVs without subtitles first because the sound and composition are more important to me than the lyrics. So for the longest time I wasn't even aware that this song is one giant dad joke :D - Vietnamese subtitles? Alright. - If you want to see all four of them looking hella fine in glasses, check out the Gleam MV ;) - Well, at least I got the one with the radish - The English lyrics are also over their heads - It's like they say, explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog. You understand it better but it dies in the process. - Just interrupted this to watch your Dreamcatcher album reaction, now back to Mamamoo! - Agreed, there are no puns for me to not get, just the girls having fun. Obviously I'm gonna enjoy that more :D - Main rapper Solar - Does this count as police brutality? - Today we learned that robots can beatbox. Google not very good but it's trying. - There are probably some fans who would pay good money to own that polaroid.
