- I will try to wait for the rest of the season, but I couldn't wait for this episode. - I figured sooner or later that kshow watermark would show up for something you were reacting to. - Given that season 1 also started with the intro performances (and I would assume Kingdom did as well), it made sense that season 2 would as well. Episode 0 however did not include this part and starts off Brave Girls showing up at the set (and ends with Brave Girls picking Viviz as their rivals). - I don't know if all of the groups only had a day to practice. I think it was just Loona due to COVID (these were filmed sometime after the first performances). - Rollin' is a fun song. I'm sure you will hear a full version of it sooner or later since it is their song. - BTW before the intro performances dropped, they actually showed the other groups reacting to them (without showing the performances themselves). - At some point, I'm expecting you to react to the MV for Dally. - I know I mentioned Taeyeon being the host when it was announced, but that was a while ago. - I know this was mentioned previously in the comments, but Brave Girls made their debut in 2011. @016 was when these particular members joined up after some others joined. Eventually, all the others left as well. - Viviz tied for the record of fastest award show win after debut for a girl group. The other group that holds the record is Ive (who completely dominated the rest of December and a good portion of January). BTW Ive are having their first comeback tomorrow. - I'm curious if CLC will be mentioned at all during this season since that group made its debut around the same time as GFriend and Yujin of Kep1er is/was in CLC. - The bad things mostly center around their company's money issues, like having to pay back another company's investment into them and going bankrupt. - Loona still isn't even the biggest group on the show since WJSN technically has 13 members (who when they made their debut lived in the same apartment). - Banging on the wall during the WJSN part was Eunseo. She and Dayoung are the two the loudest and most extra. - OMG and WJSN do have a similar musical style. WJSN is at its best when they do their mystical style. - I find it funny that the rapping they show from "Happy" is not from Exy (who is THE rapper for WJSN), but from Bona who isn't even on the show at this point (and might not be because she is resting after completing her drama). - Brave Girls CEO is Brave Brothers (who despite his name is a single person), who was a popular producer who made plenty of hit songs for groups like Sistar and AoA. He decided he wanted a group of his own to make hits for. If you ever hear a song start with "Brave Sound" then it is Brave Brothers song. - SinB knew she was going to get the evil edit. She wasn't being mean to anyone at any point here. - That is Dayoung that you were saying hello to. To get a bit of what she is like check out WJSN Chocome's song "Supper Yuppers". There was a part in that song that was just made for her. - The girl you called a cross between Kei and Hyolyn is Yeonjung. She was previously a member of I.O.I and was the last member added to WJSN, along with the maknae. BTW Kei recently did two episodes of a show and put put a song with Exy of WJSN. The MV came out like a week or so ago. - WIth WJSN being the second ones out, there probably weren't a lot of awkward moments since WJSN has a connection with all of the groups, though that connection is weakest with Brave Girls and Kep1er. - The Korean name for Loona means "Girl Of The Month" hence both groups having girl in their name.

- Again, they are talking about how Kep1er are all rookies while Yujin is sitting quietly in the middle. Her other group, CLC, recently hit their 7th year anniversary. The only thing Cube did for it was announced that 2 of the members had left the group (which puts them from 7 members to like 3, so they are effectively over) and the company. - Remember that 18 in Korean age means that she is 16 or 17 internationally. - Choi Yena was previously a member of IZ*ONE and made her solo debut this year, hence her being mentioned. Yena would have been an interesting addition to the show if only because it would have meant a very high chance for her friend Bibi to show up (who was featured on Yena's debut song Smiley). - So a couple of things about the whole evil edit with SinB and WJSN. First, the two groups are friends, especially SinB and Eunseo (though Eunseo wasn't this filming), as they went to school together and Eunseo is friends with like everyone. At the start of the show, Viviz was joking about being rookies themselves. Also when WJSN Chocome made their debuts they made a lot of jokes about them being rookies and acting like that. Yeoreum, Luda, and Dayoung (the two that were making the jokes) are all members of Chocome along with Soobin. They did a lot of heavy lifting to make it so someone might not know that they were joking around and SinB wasn't upset with them. - Yooreum when she turns and looks at SinB gets me every time. - There is a look on Exy's face when the year shows up when she realizes exactly who is coming out (because WJSN would know Sistar made their debut in 2010). Notice how she also gives an over-the-top bow to her. - Dayoung being extra with the cleaning of the chair. - The other competition show that they showed besides Unpretty Rapstar which Hyolyn was on was Good Girl, which again, I think is something you should check out somewhere along the lines (but for example Kingdom probably takes priority). - "Into the New World" was SNSD aka Girl's Generations debut song. I think pretty much every girl group covers it. They are such a huge influence. It is also a song that has become a bit of a protest anthem. - Yong-Jin is certainly being a bit more lowkey compared to Sung-Kyu despite Yong-Jin being a comedian and Sung-Kyu coming from the background of a news presenter. - Youtube views and global votes will probably help Kep1er and Loona the most. - While in episode 0 put the winners in text, here they changed it to just the audio. I figured even if you caught it, you might forget by the time you got to Kingdom. - So Kingdom actually didn't have eliminations (while Road to Kingdom did) so many people figured there might not be eliminations this time around. - A lot of people figured WJSN and Loona would pick each other. I however figured that WJSN would pick Hyolyn since they had the teaser earlier on of Exy talking about her relationship with Hyolyn. - I love how the whole rivals segment was so wholesome despite what MNet wanted to happen. - Kep1er has that rookie energy. It is hard not to find them so cute and loveable. - So Sistar, WJSN, and Ive are all from the same company (though all of the Sistar members have now left the company). - Exy was added onto Unpretty Rapstar 2 about halfway through the season and it was a key point when she showed up that some of the rappers were talking shit about that, which is when she became labeled as Hyolyn's parachute or baggage. To help Exy, she did her best to downplay any role she might have with trainees and said she had never met Exy before (the other members of Sistar had a good relationship with them, so I doubt she was as distant as she said). Moon Sua of Billlie was also on that season and probably ended up tanking her chances of debuting in a YG group due to her having some issues during the show (Blackpink I believe made their debut a year later so one has to wonder if things would have been different if she won Unpretty Rapstar 2). Another rapper from that season is Yezi (formerly of Fiestar), who is one of my favorites. - WJSN Chocome members causing trouble as usual. Between Chocome and Eunseo, WJSN is bound to get the evil edit at some point.

- I only realized the episode was 2 hours when they had only done Viviz performance and there was so little time left. Plus there is the fact that they haven't had commercials yet (commercials are backloaded on Korean TV, and then a longer blocker between shows). - Don't worry, Loona will get to do their first-round performance. They recorded it the day before the second-round performances were recorded. It should be shown during next week's episode. - Because that was Purple Kiss! - I would have rather seen Purple Kiss as contestants on the show, but I will take them as special judges here. Maybe for Queendom 3, so Purple Kiss can be on bloody top. - SinB of Viviz had dating rumors with Taeyeon, which both refuse to deny (because it is funny), while Eunseo of WJSN said she wanted to start dating rumors with Taeyeon. Taeyeon commented that she doesn't think fans like such rumors, but a fan replied and said that it is fine if it is with Eunseo. - I did see the sign-up for global judge for round 2, but ended up not filling out the form. - Besides Purple Kiss, the only other group whose name I know is Woo-Ah. I think I heard one of their songs, but I can't remember it. - The one you called adorable is Eunha. - The first time I saw the transparent masks used on a Korean show, my thoughts were me thinking they were a bit creepy. - Besides the two songs they picked, "Navillera" and "Me Gustas Tu" are other signature GFriend songs. - MNet doing Gfriend dirty by bringing up the slipping on stage. While their dedication to keep performing helped get them noticed, it isn't the best of memories for Gfriend as I understand it. - The start from "Time For the Moon Night" I have heard so many times. - As I said Eunseo is good friends with SinB, so of course, she would know what the dates meant. - Some people were down on Viviz's performance, but I loved it. It was certainly beautiful and gave a bit of closure to gfriend, who did not get a proper end when they were disbanded out of nowhere last year. - Gfriend are really amazing dancers. They could do their complex dances while blindfolded (which involve crossing close to one another). - So after Hyolyn left Starship, she started her own studio. So she is both the CEO and sole artist at her company. To even the playing field, I heard the MNet is paying for all the stage performance costs since otherwise, Hyolyn (and probably Loona) would be at a disadvantage to others, especially Kep1er, who already have MNet money. - I would have preferred "Lonely" of the Sistar songs. I prefer that style of song from Sistar compared to "Touch My Body" (which is not to say it is a bad song). I love their more sensual side. - I remember Hyolyn talking about how she is bad with technology on Knowing Brothers. Like her method of how she wanted to pay her employees was more old-fashioned and had trouble with newer technologies that are supposed to make it easier. - If you like "Touch My Body", I would also recommend checking out Sistar's song "Shake It". You might also like my favorite group EXID. A good song to get started with them is "Ah Yeah" which was their follow-up to their breakthrough hit "Up and Down". "Night Rather Than Day" is another great EXID song to start with, but it is missing one of their members. - Hyolyn certainly smashed it, but I have to give a very slight preference to VIVIZ. The meaning behind VIVIZ's performance won me over in the end. - I'm hoping the preview is just MNet being MNet and making things out to be worse than they actually were. - Based on their outfits, my guess is WJSN will be doing "Dreams Come True" or maybe "As You Wish". While the costumes fit "Dreams Come True" era outfits better, "As You Wish" seems like the better choice for their signature song due to its history of getting first place on the real-time charts at the very start of the new year. - The post-credit scenes were so cute, especially Kep1er talking about how their fathers love Brave Girls.

Don't know if that came up yet: Korean calculate their age differently. In Korea you are 1 year old when you are born and your age "increases" each New Year. So, Korean age is usually 1-2 years more than "international" age. So, Kep1ers YeSeo is 16 in international age. Also it's kind of a running gag between idols that the young ones have to leave some shows early due to child labor laws. 😁 (Minors, meaning <20 Korean age, may not work between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.)

Daniel Goland

RIIIIIIIGHT, I remember now that this subject was mentioned in the comments on one of the BP reactions a while back!

Laura

It's unfortunate about Loona's situation. Even though they got to record their performance after they recovered it's expected they'll automatically get 6th place bc they lose the live audience votes but their Fandom is quite passionate so they're already strategizing on how to minimize the impact of the 1st round. I'd be surprised if they ever came in 6th again so it's unlikely they'll have to leave the program

tracisr

I dont think there is anything wrong with tour OMG and Loona comparisons. The song they were playing definitely sounded like something OMG would do. And even when he rap clip came on... Mimi from OMG is one of the best 3rd Gen rappers in my opinion. She writes most of her own raps too making her a real rapper. So I think Loona would appreciate the comparison. Mostly though they are very different sounding groups but I understand it in that moment. This season is gonna be good already the interactions have me laughing. And yes they edited SinB to seem meaner. She has a resting b face anyway so mnet will use it to their advantage. Yeoreum even said it was edited wrongly and the faint comment was about Hyolyn entering the room not wat SinB said. Poor Brave Girls not getting a vote. I really hope their performance will get then more attention in the future. Viviz had me crying as a Gfriend stan that really pulled on my heart strings. Hyolyn burned the stage down!!! Even with the heel being messed up! Omg the preview for next week has me really worried what could have happened to WJSN 😭😭 I cant wait to see Kep1er perform. They are gonna kill it I know it! Poor Loona! That sucks so bad I hope we get to see their performance still since they worked so hard for it

Chad Williams

You already mentioned yeoreum explaining everything lol I was just about to explain how it was mnet and they are friends too this guy has a very thorough comment section I like it 😂

tracisr

🤣 I didn't get a chance to read Dardove's very thorough comment yet but I figured I'd mention it in case he didn't include it bc that evil editing is manipulative!!! The fact that Sowon was even worried about SinB mad face is telling 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was dying at that part

tracisr

Good job picking out Purple Kiss before they said it! Also my girls Wooah were there too!!! 😍😍

fabrice maire

DG ok first yes you're right the scale and the production are way better this season because between the season 1 and 2 MNET also drop KINGDOM and they raise the production at another level so the girl will have the same amoung of money to produce they're performance than in KINGDOM

fabrice maire

YOU also right PARK BOM wasn't a good choice for this show .the production as to look for a real famous female artist and an alrounder , if they want than she can have the chance to win agains't a group. and for sure HYOLIN is a very good choice . she as the experience, she was the leader of one of the most popular group in korea and to me she's a strong candidate for the victory .with VIVIZ the 2 most talented and experimented group in the show .

fabrice maire

DG i like you're reaction you're pretty good to analyze thing but . because you got no contexte you can't really imagine what happen . obviously you like LOONA and they're great but they lack a lot of popularity in korea when a group like VIVIZ or they're previous group GFRIEND is insanly popular in korea . sometime it doesn't matter who's drop the best performance the most popular group wwill win . so if i can make a prediction i will say than HYOLIN or VIVIZ will win the show . KEPLER or WJSN will be 3 and 4 LOONA and BRAVE GIRL 5 and 6 . that my prediction fter i love all group so i don't care about who's gonna win

Daniel Goland

Context is welcomed but not fully required to discuss and predict the possible outcome, that's the fun of watching these shows. It's about having fun and having a discussion.

fabrice maire

you right about what kind of show we can get with group with 12 members or 7 or 3 or a soloist . and i'am like you i can't wait to se. the obvious thing is when you got 12 members the advantage is the scale of they're dance routine and the fact than they can make they're performance more GRANDE but the bad point is (and that why WJSN and LOONA can't really shine) when you got so many members imagine the line distribution for a group of 12 for a 3minutes songs ?? some members sang 5 or 10 second when they're main vocalist can have maybe 30 or 40 secondes . many girls can't really shine . HYOLIN / VIVIZ and BRAVE GIRLS can show more they're individual charm .

fabrice maire

yes it's not agains't you but kpop fandom are alway's in war so if you compare JACKSON and TAEMIN it's like if you compare they're group GOT7 vs SHINee. and they don't like that but it's not agains't you . LOL

fabrice maire

YES MNET EVIL EDITING is well know they do that to put some DRAMA because in fact all girls love each other in this industry .they're almost all friends . so for some foreigner that can be boring to see for 2 hours cute and adorable girls . so they try to put some drama .

Dardove

I did go into the evil editting a bit. That part was so over the top and obvious. I didn't know about the Yeorum fainting comment being in relation to Hyolyn though, but it makes sense. The look on Luda's face when she apologized makes me think she was barely holding in the laughter about the whole thing.

tracisr

Haha I should have known you would! Yeah she was definitely holding in laughter and Yeoreum said that she didn't know why she looked so surprised when she turned around it definitely wasn't like that. Those damn editors are good at what they do!

Dardove

I would put Exy up there as one of the best of 3rd gen rappers too. She was on Unpretty Rapstar for a reason. I really like her style, but sadly it doesn't always go with WJSN's style of music.

fabrice maire

little context for you DG . VIVIZ/ GFRIEND drop ROUGH early in they're career that song became a mega hit it's the 2nd most awarded female song in korea that song was the song for all student in korea back in a day a very emotional one . to beat that song the other groups as to broke the stage .

fabrice maire

of course HYOLIN stage amazing as alway's . now it's funny because it's unfair for all group to compete agains't her . all of them as to level they're games AF if they want beat her . or they as to pray for a HYOLIN mistake .

I am sorry but, you cant have King Taeyeon on the show as an MC when she is the True queen of them all
