- actually the question is not whether Hyeon-su loves Jiwon or not. because the series is very clear on one point at this moment. he is simply incapable of it. Hyeon-su is sick so we can call it a lack of empathy or something but he is incapable of loving like us. As I have already said, he may very well have affection for her in his own way. Hyeon-su proved in the previous episode that he didn't want Jiwon to get hurt. Moreover, he was quite honest with Jiwon before their marriage. he clearly exposed his violent nature, his antisocial side and the fact that there is something that does not work well with him. where some people think that he loves Jiwon despite everything, I see it more as the fact that he is trying to keep her away from him because he is afraid of his father's vision. which could be a fear of becoming like him. or simply put her in danger. for Jiwon she is also quite special. From what she says herself is that she loves Hyeon-su as someone who should help or protect her, she loves him because he seems lost. a bit like an old abandoned dog that we would like to adopt even if it is for a few months. this behavior seems consistent given that Jiwon is a cop. but her unconditional and absolute love for him makes her completely blind. she even manages to interpret Hyeon-su's words suit her, she takes an 'i don't get you' for a confession???. -Hyeon-su stays close to Jiwon, he's married to her because as he says himself, he needs her. to remove his "dark passenger". so for me it's clearly not love. In fact the whole subject of this show will be to see Jiwon's reaction. For the moment she knows nothing about him. just like the viewers at this moment of the show. If she one day knows the whole truth, will she be like Debra? Or will she be blinded by her love for him and perhaps she will also become a criminal
