Still here, taking a few days off due to illness (Patreon)

Hey,
I'm still here working on the hair sims. I seem to have caught something on my visit to my parents last weekend (Again!), so I'll be taking a few days off until I feel a bit better again. This obviously will be delaying the time I can start rendering further, but it's what it is.
On a positive note, I seem to have gotten the hair sims to work in an acceptable way now, after switching to simulating with Maya's own dynamic hair system, instead of the one I used in my prior work. So I won't need to do any massive compromises at least, which likely would have involved master getting a completely new more modern short hair style.
I'm not sure why the Yeti sims don't seem to work properly at all for me this time, even with extremely simple example scenes. I assume it's something to do with the simulation revamp they did going from yeti 3 to yeti 4. But either way, having done this switch is probably for the best, as now the hair acts a bit more naturally, compared to my previous works, since Yeti simulations did not have any self collisions with the hair itself. It was a bit of extra work to get everything working, as I needed to redo Master's hair completely, yet again, but outside of that, I think it might save time down the line as I simulate the remaining scene, as the sims do seem to work better as is, compared to before, so less tinkering required per shot (So far, hopefully continues to be the case!).
Mega link (Hair sim example)
Linked is an example of the hair sims from a beginning portion of the animation I posted on Discord a day or two ago. Ignore Mio's stubby elbows there, it's due to the scene being at a scale of around 28x the normal size, to compensate for Master's small size, since the simulations need to be done at 1x scale, and Mio's rig can't handle the large scale properly right now, with how the scene scale change needed to be done. Master had the same issue, but I fixed that, since she needed accurate collisions from her arms for her own hair. Not perfect by any measure, but I'm happy enough with the look, that I can go forward with it.
That's all for now, I'll do another post similar to this next week.
