Discord is up, switching to Pay up front in a few days (Patreon)
Content
Hey!
I've just finished setting up my Discord server, and I've added it to the reward tiers.
I believe the bot should send invites to all patrons who have connected their discord with patreon from their account settings. Let me know if there are any issues, and I'll try to see if I can solve it.
Here's how to get access if you haven't connected your account to discord yet:

With this change I'll also be switching to the Pay up front payment system Patreon has been offering for some time now. This change will happen some time on the 2nd or 1st of December, after the main wave of the payments have gone through, to avoid any double billing in case someone joins in the last couple days of the month.
This change shouldn't affect any of the current/previous Patrons, who are currently pledged, and don't alter their pledges.
So what changes? For most of you, nothing really. However:
- You won't be able to hop tiers for free anymore. When you upgrade to a higher tier, you will be charged the difference.
- You won't be able to pledge, get the content, and unpledge before the billing cycle anymore.
- If you join at the end of the month, you will be billed again at the start of the next month, if you don't cancel your pledge before that, once the system is in place. however, since I don't remove old content, it really doesn't matter what time of the month you join, you'll still end up getting the same content. The only thing you might miss on are Polls & Similar interaction earlier from the month. If those are important to you, it's best to join at the beginning of a month, to get the maximum amount out of your pledge! I'll admit this is the main reason I didn't initially want to switch to this system, as it's not entirely ideal.
Once the system is in place, I'll add a warning on the top banner about it, so someone doesn't accidentally make a payment they couldn't afford, while thinking they'd be riding for free, or something similar. Or to at least minimize the chance of that happening.
This does not change anything about me distributing the lower res versions of my content for free! I'll still continue to post free versions of my videos on my blog and other platforms I frequent.
The main reason I'm switching to this system is due to discord distribution. While I didn't consider it a big deal to have the occasional people jumping back and forth with their pledges, but with discord, having it open like that, feels like I'm opening it up to potential trolls/scammers.
It's also partly due to wanting it to handle similar to subscribestar, which works similar to most subscription sites, where you make a sub, and then it recurs a month later, instead of at a set time, like on patreon. Having patreon be open to jumping in and out for free, would make the substar option considerably worse as an option. So it's kind of an incentive thing as well.
But let me know what you think! Maybe I'll change my mind! I've had a poll about this before, but I figure there's no harm in having another one.
