Diminishment v0.220b - Ch1 Pt2 WIP (Patreon)
Content
Hey,
Here it finally is. Sorry for the longer than anticipated wait! Everything should work, but I haven't had time to test it extensively, so expect some possible bugs. If you encounter anything game breaking, like there's no way to reach and ending or something, do let me know!
v0.220b:
- Fixed missing videos when failing during the "on the tip" mini-game
- Fixed a wrong video playing a bit later after that point.
v0.220a:
- Fixed a freeze bug right in the beginning. I went through a run without a single freeze now, while fast forwarding all the text, with the packaged version. So this time it should work!
- Fixed some cases of music going quiet when skipping through text too fast
Anything that seems off, feel free to report it here.
I'm not sure if this is just on my PC, but it seems like updating to a newer version of unity broke the save game support. So I've included options in the scene select at the beginning, so you don't have to play through the prologue again, if you want your route choice to be saved, in case it gets used in the future.
I had to remove the save file from its directory, before saving and loading started working for me again. You can find the save file in:
"C:\Users\yourwindowsaccountname\AppData\LocalLow\Eskoz\Diminishment\saved_games. gd"
You might have to enable viewing hidden files in windowsto access AppData. Either back the old one up, or just delete it, if your saves are not functioning. You will of course lose all those saves if you delete the file.
This is the WIP release, things left do:
- Wait for rendering to finish
- Audio (possibly different music at parts as well)
- Post work
- Character portraits
- Some minor extra features, if I have the time
The scene's where you're submerged should look slightly better with the rendered version, as most of that will be done in post. Right now they are just mostly a white screen.
I've just calculated the estimated rendering time left, and it's going to be pretty close to the end of the month when they get finished. I'll have to do post work on them after they're done as well, which usually at least takes a full day combined with the rendering them.
I might try and drop the required render time a bit, if it starts to seem like they'll take longer than expected. But currently, I'm estimating a final release on the 31st. Possibly on the 1st day of Feb if I can't trim the rendering times enough.
I think that's all that I was thinking about saying. Well, I'll add more, if something comes to mind once I've slept properly.
Thank you for you patience and I hope you enjoy!
