Hey!

I figured I'd keep you all informed, that I've changed my working order a bit so that I can just stick the playblasts into rpg maker directly, instead of releasing them separately in pieces. Basically, I'm now building & planning the scene as far as I can in RPG Maker, before doing any animation in Maya.

So when it comes to the game, I'll be doing wip releases of it, instead of the usual playblasts I've been doing before. There's a couple reasons for this. Main reason is, that I really need to use RPG maker in tandem with Maya, to make sure the videos fit, so it's better to just build the actual RPG maker scene, instead of building a dummy build for testing. The other is, that the playblasts will be mostly just loop pieces, that probably will be a bit hard to follow, and will only just work as spoilers.

For example, the finished scenario, will have around 40+ separate clips of animation total, with all the loops & transitions included. This is quite different than making the usual video, so I'm still figuring out the best way to do all this.

This means it'll take slightly longer to have an update ready for you, but I think I should have the "intro" part of the prologue done by Friday, maybe sooner. (Released to 5$ backers and above.)

I'm also including the gender switch already at this point in the game. Since to have the her/his switches, I need to take them into account for the writing anyway, or I'll end up fixing a lot of text later on down the road. And I haven't figured out a fast way to quickly edit text in bulk yet, so it'd be very time consuming. The videos will however have a female body, until I have time to render a male version. It'll mostly be POV however, so you will mainly just be seeing the limbs. Once I'm done animating, I'll know how big the need for it is.

I'll post the first version in 3 parts. First will be the intro, up to the part where you've shrunken down. Second part will have the first QT event, with one possible gameover, and the final part will have 3 different gameovers, and the win scenario, which lets you progress. I'll try to release one part each week, but the final event is pretty complex, so it might take a bit longer. But I do believe I'll be able to get this whole prologue done before the end of the month. At least in an unrendered state.

Content for the two QTEs will be (minor spoilers):

OV, and the other will be a mix of OV and UB, with two OV endings, and one UB ending. I'll not spoil any more than that, however.

On the VR scene, it's actually pretty close to done rendering. The average render time per frame has been a bit shorter than I initially calculated. I'd estimate a week, if I don't have to redo any of it. It's also been going a lot faster thanks to not having to interrupt it, since I've been able to make progress by working exclusively with RPG Maker & Adobe software for now. Soon I'll have to move back to working in Maya though, unless I start working on future scenes in RPGMV, but I'd rather finish this one before moving on to anything new. Even if I'd really love to have the VR scene out asap.

As always, I'll keep you updated, in case anything changes!
