Hey!

Here's the fixed version of the previous VR clips that I promised a couple months ago!

As last time, distribution will happen through MEGA, as patreon doesn't allow files over 200 MB. Let me know of any issues. You should not have to worry about download limits, as the hit goes to my monthly allocated bandwidth instead of yours. However, it might get a bit choked if many are downloading at the same time, so if it's not loading immediately, I suggest trying later.

Nausea warning! There's some quite extreme movement on this video here and there. I personally was fine, but I've used VR quite a bit, so I'm mostly used to it by now, which means it's hard for me to gauge what causes or doesn't cause nausea for others. If you don't feel good, I suggest taking the headset off, instead of trying to force yourself through it!

MEGA Folder

(Please don't share this link, I decided to leave the password out for now, since it caused some problems to some people last time. If you feel you absolutely must share the full res versions, please at least upload them to your own MEGA/similar account, instead of linking directly to this folder!)

About the files:

PC_HQ_h265: Highest resolution at 3840x3840. You will require a decent PC to run it, it uses the h265 coded. There's not a huge difference between this and the UHD version, most probably won't notice anything. But it takes less space on your HD at least.

PC_UHD: 3840x2160, h264. DL this if h265 doesn't work on your PC. I also posted an alternate LQ version with a lower bitrate for this, as the difference is not too major.

PSVR: 3840x2160, h264, but at a much lower bitrate than the PC_UHD ones. Let me know if this doesn't work on your Playstation VR. I can't test it myself, as I only own a Rift.

2D360: 3840x1920, h264, Monoscopic version, to be viewed on the monitor with a 360 video player, like Kolor for example.

Recommended players:

PC VR: Whirligig, VR Desktop

PSVR: Littlstar

Monitor: Kolor

If someone knows better video players, let me know!

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, although there's still room for improvement, especially if you look behind you. Having no body there feels pretty weird, since the hand is kind of holding you, but yet it's not. It also looks a bit static, since the camera is locked to the hand. Not to mention the scale really doesn't match there. But I feel everything works pretty well, for the front 180 degree are at the very least. But the full 360 does add to the immersion, so it's not a waste in my opinion!

Audio could also be better, but doing positional audio for videos is something I'm not very well versed in. Doing it in UE4 is simple in comparison. Not to mention, even if I do positional audio, it'll get screwed up once you turn your head, since it's not realtime. So it wasn't a huge priority for me here.

This took a bit longer to encode than I thought, so the next playblast for the 2 on1 will be released before the end of Thursday instead of Wednesday. Just to clarify, by end of Thursday I mean I'll post it when I go to sleep, so it might be considered Friday night depending where you live. I tend to work in the evenings.
