Hey everyone ^_^

Just a quick update on the progress of the upcoming build.

Progress is coming along, slowly but surely, on the next build. I'd originally intended to focus on only getting the base planning in for some of the appearance updates, but after getting a nice dose of inspiration I'm planning on getting a little further with my implementation of the makeup mechanics. The commission content has caused me a little writers block, but I'm slowly working through that too.

In terms of the makeup content my plans are;

  • Players will be able to acquire a makeup box from a new NPC shopkeeper.
  • Players will also be able to acquire various makeup objects (lipstick, mascara, body glitter, etc.) from the new NPC shopkeeper, along with makeup supply refills.
  • Makeup will be relatively customize-able, with in some instances multiple options for what the player can do (for example using lip gloss over lipstick), along with having a wide choice in colors to apply. There will also be some more obscure options, such as a face paint set for players who want to try something a little more unusual (like pet-play or clown makeup).
  • From your wardrobe, players will be able to select a makeup routine, this set of choices will be applied at the start of each day (and immediately upon choosing it), but only as long as the player has enough makeup supplies.
  • Wearing makeup will increase payout for most jobs, it will further increase payout if the player is wearing appropriate makeup. Appropriate makeup would be for example thick slutty makeup for the brothel job for example.
  • A new skill for applying makeup will also be added to the game. Training it will be somewhat costly, however, it will unlock higher payouts from jobs for wearing makeup for players who train it.
  • The makeup skill will also unlock a minor beautician job. This job won't have a massive amount of content (as it's a more professional standard job), but will offer another option for players who don't want to push their character into sex-work.

I might not get everything above (along with the planned basic framework for tattoos and piercings) into this update, but I hope to get a good chunk of it worked on. As such, the build is still probably two or three days away.

Could it be low makeup skill with high makeup demand results in clown-y look?

Hi ExDee ^_^ I've been contemplating makeup failures, but with how I'm doing it it's been a little difficult to figure out exactly how I'd implement them. One of the options I thought of was to have the skill factor into how much makeup is used, though I'm not sure if that just comes off as a bit mean and not very interesting. Some of this is a something of a work in progress. Though, given a bit more time and thought, I am tempted to figure out a solution. Checking whether the player has attempted anything complex and having a failure outcome could work, though might end up too difficult a system to implement. I'm certainly happy to have suggestions/feedback on this, as I always want these new systems to be fun and not a chore for the players.
