This is a GTWO or "get the word out" [go to war option if you want] in field review. I get a lot of requests of "best scope for an AR" still. I have covered this area a fair amount (https://youtu.be/L-r8MbccPkc) but dudes wonder if more advanced scopes are available, esp. LPVO options. The answer is probably yes. Here I cover the Sig Sauer Tango-MSR LPVO 1-10X28mm SFP, my preferred option after I researched the entire line up. It was purchased with donation dollars. Immediately I was impressed with the scope, its features, and value.

The Tango MSRs seem to provide a notch above mid optical quality and feature surprising build quality for the money. This variation has a 34mm tube, include Alpha 1 pc mount [nice value there], throw lever, illuminated BC reticle, strong scope caps, low dispersion glass, and useful markings. I'll show you all this.

And then we get to shooting. You'll see I'm genuinely impressed with the Sig Sauer Tango-MSR LPVO 1-10X28mm, esp. at it's reasonable price (below). I will not say my previous recommends, also below, are not still awesome. They are and many will be forever on several TNP guns. But it's Sig optics star seems to be shining brightly with this Tango line.

Hmmm hmmm hmmm….will this unseat the strike eagle? Will it dethrone the surprisingly competent burris BTR?

Anonymous

I literally just bought this scope (sfp) last week for my sig spear LT

Anonymous

Returned my 1-6. BDC is screwed up. They ran the numbers with a 1.5 inch height over bore instead of 2.7. I would skip these. Went with a Burris RT-6 instead. This is why they are so cheap right now. Other than the BDC being wrong I really liked it. Mr GnG even points out the screwed up reticle in his sponsored review.

Mostly a Vortex, Holosun fanboy, but I do have 2 Sig optics, the Bravo 5 5x32($330) on an AR and the Buckmaster 3x9 x 40($89) on my Mini 30. Both excellent for their POU.

Great review!

The_Flow

Dropped my Ken & Barbie panties yesterday for RCI skid plates onto the GX460, dudesdudesdudes there's an easter egg in the Optics Planet SIG scopes line up, an FFP 1-6 for $340!?!?!? Go get some! Buy Nutn a coffee, buy TD a 3-pack of condoms for his next outings with local Ken dolls! Excellent value as usual; Nutn just put an *extremely* inclusive A+ scope review onto the market here where Noobs get a basic walk-through of what we want/need/see out there, PLUS you GET to click-nate to the Project! Get some! Drive on!

Scopes are a funny thing. Everyone loves their particular thing. This looks like a great option among many! We're spoiled for choice

Anonymous

Just got one in December. My first LPVO. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. Also curious about the new Venom (?) And we're that stands.

Anonymous

Nice. More scope options. I like my Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24.

Anonymous

My xp with venoms has been it's a good value if you can live with an imperfect product. Many of these have been returned as lines on turrets dont align with the scope body, some tracking issues at the extremes, you'll get quite a bit of purple color edges when zoom in to 25x. It's fine, but don't expect it to be on par with a high end scope

Anonymous

I bought the 1-10 ffp a while back at a great price and still returned it. It was even the sexy fde they make. I expected it to have decent glass being an ffp, and a decent eye box with the 34mm, but mine was not that way. Had a decent fish eye at 1X. The illumination also wasn't very bright. It was twilight bright as opposed to daylight bright. It looked sick, but compared against comparably priced or less expensive primary arms LPVO's it lost out for me.

Anonymous

Thanks for the scope review. Can you do a video highlighting all that we in the tactical community owe to the innovations that came from the firearm-competition community? I wholeheartedly thank all of you 3-gunners and IPSC shooters for Kydex holsters, pistol red-dots, LPVOs, electronic earmuffs, adjustable 2-point slings...and what else am I missing in this undiscussed topic? 😮

Colostomybag

Yeah nobody makes a good 1-10 ffp right now. If you’re buying something ffp and it’s less than 1k ish it’s going to be not that great. People see ffp and think it’s good instantly, but if eye relief, fov, durability, good 1x are something you want it’s gonna be expensive. It’s just how it is.

Underground is right. Love when you reference bizzaro-world, it’s absolutely the truth. The clock is ticking on ammo storage and gun rights. The communist’s will cheat their way into permanent power regardless of our constitution. Would love a video on your thoughts regarding the conservative states stand together against Washington on the border and how it could be a potential pathway into future sustainable freedom with other issues as well.

Anonymous

I’m still pissed with sig for black balling you. I’ll buy primary arms first.

Nutnfancy

I do trust Mr GnG, I'm a Patron of his. Well I'll let you know if I find this to be true with this one. I am keeping this one and so far I love it. It takes a lot of time to dial in for your given BC. Honestly most dudes will never do it. Instead, even on this Tango, I'd dial in come ups.

Nutnfancy

Ha ha, dude you're so funny "buy TD a 3-pack of condoms for his next outings with local Ken dolls! " LOVE IT

Nutnfancy

Yes indeed. No matter what scope I review, I'll be told about "better options" in the comments, holy shit. I do love this one very much and it remains highly rec'd

Nutnfancy

Roger that. This Tango MSR SFP is great so far. If it ends up sucking I'll set it on fire and film it.

Nutnfancy

"Kydex holsters, pistol red-dots, LPVOs, electronic earmuffs, adjustable 2-point slings" AGREE. The competitive community has no military bureaucratic restrictions and comes up with amazing stuff. Your list covers some of that. I will put some thought into and maybe a video. Thanks TB

Nutnfancy

"The communist’s will cheat their way into permanent power regardless of our constitution. " Yep, it's coming and I've always predicted it. It will get real sporty in the future as the WEF digital currency is accepted by HUANs, DEI scoring, punishment and imprisonment of gun owners as political prisoners. It IS coming so prepare accordingly. I'm enjoying the platforms I have while I can.

I wonder if they just slapped the 1-10 reticle in the 1-6 (accidently?). I ran the data with XM193 and the first sub tension was at like 330 zeroed at 100 and the last was like 880. Seriously unusable. Loved it otherwise. But the Burris RT-6 is a fine optic as well and was just a few bucks more. I'm out east in the applician foot hills. We do good to even see 300 yards. So hold over isn't too big of a deal.

Anonymous

I prefer primary arms myself. But the vortex strike eagle is nice too. They got a venom now in a lpvo. Not sure what the differences are.

Anonymous

Not sure the point of ffp in an lpvo. It'll either be on 1x or max. Not a lot of benefit to ffp in the low zoom range.

Anonymous

No. Its Chinese made. Burris is Philippines. Philippines glass > China glass.

Hey Nutn, great review! I got the Sig msr 1-6 last year and I definitely like it . I do wish I went up in magnification tho, as I have taken several DMR training classes and some shooting competitions I’ve went up to the 2-12 range ! Btw, Athlon Helios but gen 2 2-12 … great MPVO ( might check it out Nutn if possible) , that mag range is kinda my fav for a DMR style rifle right now. Great review tho Nutn!

Anonymous

I hope it survives the curse of the desert. Please for the love of God let it survive. Honestly I love mine. But western Pennsylvania only has cursed government...not gun curses.....lol

Anonymous

I've only had mine a week so I can't honestly tell you other than eyeball f*king it in my workshop and my yard. But it looks really good.

Anonymous

Have you tried out any of the primary arms LPVO’s? I can’t find many negative reviews of them. The only negative is the reticle is not day light bright. But that’s not really a deal breaker for me.

Anonymous

Vortex venom line. They are popular in the 22lr circuit to get 20+ power with a decent name brand scope. I've used a few, they're not bad for the $400-$600 price range I've seen them in. They just annoy the prrfectionist who thinks their $400 scope should be flawless

Anonymous

Interesting. I figured for the price this or the PA nova would be good enough. So I was kinda trying to figure out were the Venom fit in. Thanks for your input

The_Flow

Well, I hope he's thick-skinned with a Barbie-like wife!

Anonymous

I've heard before that these MSRs seem to punch above their weight class. Amazing value as well with the included mount. I like seeing the scope reviews!

Anonymous

Good review! I recently purchased the 1-6.

Anonymous

I have the Vortex SE 1-8 and im like dammit Nutn.. 2x more power .. I might do it lol

Anonymous

I’ve got the 1-6 MSR on my Mark 12 “cloneish” rifle build. It does a pretty good job with no complaints from me. PSA almost always has these on sale for around $280(1-6 variants). Plus, I didn’t feel bad at all when I rattled canned the rifle to look like the Lone Survivor Mark 12. Great review as always. Keep up the good work.

Good information!!!!

I have been curious about the Sig line of scopes because I see the a lot on forums. I’ll still buy my Vortex because I can afford the great warranty and price point but I’m glad there’s other manufacturers making great optics besides Burris and Vortex!

Anonymous

Enjoyed this first look 👀. Will be great to see what you think of how this scope performs over time. All the best to you Nutn 😎🤙 Stay up! 💝🇺🇸

The 3 post reticle is a blast from the past like the old Schmidt & Bender scopes from the 1950s

Anonymous

Nutn can you review and compare with this Primary Arms Scope!? https://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-glx-1-10x24-ffp-rifle-scope-acss-griffin-mil-m10-reticle
