There are some great .45 ACP combat pistols.  Add the Sig P227 to the list.  It improves upon the venerable and mostly loved Sig P220 by having more firepower.  10+1 or 14+1 Rounds to be exact.  That's a substantial improvement in this hard hitting cartridge.  The 10 round mag fits flush.  I have given a by for a 8 round mag in old fashioned guns like the 1911 but I am less apt to do so in a more modern design like the Sig.  As discussed, my affinity for the combat proven P226 carries over to the P227 and 2014 TNP testing showed identical, flawless performance.  In several POUs, the P227 will serve you well if your system SAWC permits .45 ACP integration.  The E2 ergos, size, weight, balance, feel, trigger, firepower, magazine modifications, durability, accuracy, and accessories are discussed with plenty of shooting footage shown to back up these conclusions.  Here we'll discuss all this again and see if after all these years it's still rec'd though discontinued by Sig! Another by request Is It Still Awesome video.

2 stoppages, antiquated caliber and super heavy. That does not seem awesome. Someone’s been drinking the nostalgia koolaid. Sure it has 2nd cool but its not a 1st cool contender.

Can you do a review on the FN545/FN510?

The fifth-generation Glock 20s are having reliability problems. Are they already obsolete? As for the 45 ACP, walk into any sporting goods store. You'll find plenty of ammo options — both FMJs and JHPs. Just because we have an entire society of petulant tactitards obsessed with 9mm doesn't mean that the 45 ACP is antiquated. FYI, the 9mm design is actually older than the 45 ACP. Lastly, heavy guns are probably best for most applications. I'd rather keep a 33-ounce gun in the nightstand than a 23-ounce gun.
