It's different for sure. The Kimber R7 Mako is an enclosed slide design...not too many of those around. I'll ask the question as to why along the way; probably has something to do with setting it apart and making it "Kimber special." The R7 has great ergos, lightweight, xlnt sights, good rounds capacity, and this version is red dot equipped (you TNPRs love that).
