At its heart TNP's Red Skies is about showing how difficult SAWC can be in a self-contained man portable tactical system. SAWC is a key concept in my reviews and I preach "lighten everything." It's good to hit the field in a tactical backpacking multi-day adventure to reinforce the credibility on the concept. And many TNPrs have been waiting for another RS to happen; it's been 10 years!

Stalwart crew members Sean the TNPr and Jardine are in on this one. They are hard working, never complaining dudes that help make this whole thing a reality. You'll see us gearing up, talking guns, putting a boulder in Sean's pack (yes really), and  hiking in long range 80 lb steel targets. After all that THEN we start the actual Red Skies hike in and engagements. We camp that night at our location. Along the way we're engaging natural targets  and there's lots. Hiking in heavy loads (at least Sean and I!) gets the heart pumping so the shooting is slightly stressed. Usually we'd dump our packs but putting them on again was so much work I dispensed with this. Our area, scouted out on the KTM 890, is remote and we are the only ones out there...ahhh the bliss.

I carry the heavy hitting S&W M&P10 7.62x51mm SAPR https://youtu.be/-JPnPFp2G44. As I say in the AR10 reviews I'll always opt for a .308 SAPR if I can take the weight. The other fellas go with a ".223 pop guns" that are cute and easily to carry...ha ha (kidding). Of course the curse of the desert makes a strange appearance in this Part 1 and I'm mortaring the M&P10. Once past that it's smooth sailing as we engage, with fully loaded backpacks, targets out to 400 yds.

This is the "actual" part of RS22 so lots of hiking work is shown should there be any doubt the hike in actually happened! Music captures the moods and an old school Dudio song kicks off the synopsis.

Get video! Thanks! Multi tasking tonight. Watched or listened to this while weight lifting and primed 100 30-30 cases.

Honestly, you would have to pay me $6,000 to do that. I'll keep my cable streaming, air conditioning and Golden Doodle. But watching someone else do it? Yeah, I'm good with that.
