Don't kid your yourself: this is a capable tactical folder to be sure. Brian Lai designed Spyderco Amalgam has a great steel, is fast, a four-way reversible pocket clip, a big blade, and is lightweight. Its quality levels are top shelf too. But the use of a compression lock has created controversy on the Amalgam. Me? I think it's a great knife you should get while you can; it will probably become a collectible in addition to its domination of first cool. It's rare will see a folder like this from Spyderco main line blades!
