Spyderco weighs is in with some modern interpretations of the Old West Bowies.  I am happy Spyderco is doing these...a new direction and a nod to the traditional large fixed blade knife.  Here's the first one I will consider:  The Province.   I will spend time is this fun fixed blade review talking about the 1st/2nd Cool of the blade.  The blade for me falls short in some key areas.  Some super cool competitive options are proffered which I might prefer more!

All fixed blade designs possess an instant appeal (i.e. second cool) that few folders generate. A model like Spyderco's Bradley Bowie or Spartan's Harsey Difensa offer so much temptation and subtle elegance. It is reassuring that I am not alone for fixed blade love.
