A search for a titanium field watch lead me to the GPW brand. This a review on the quartz "GPW Military" field watch. It quit working...and no it's not the battery; it was replaced multiple times. That's right, this mechanically simple QUARTZ watch failed. Tune into my rant on this and then we'll pretend the watch is working for this review as well as we cover its good points. $220 Was wasted as I ended up throwing this watch in the garbage (and yes I tried multiple things to fix it; it was out of warranty). In the end I recommend you think carefully before spending $225 or so on a GPW watch and recommend you stick with AVI-8, Momentum, Deep Blue, Phoibos, Parnis, Citizen, Seiko, Aviator, Fossil (yes Fossil, check their JR1448 model) watch brands to be happier.

Ahhh German quality...does it get any better? Lots of watch reviewers tout this and rationalize the usually higher prices on German time pieces. Most of this is TPA. For sure there are some great German watch brands (I have others) that do feature solid engineering, durability, decent value, and elegant design. Other TNP WRVs might show this. But are the worth the extra price? Are the really better than the excellent Chinese watches being produced now? Let's spend some money, buy one, and find out.
