The Better Pocket Shotgun? Taurus Polymer Judge (Patreon)
Content
This polymer framed Taurus Judge can put a lot of lead in the air. With composite specialty loads like Hornady’s “410 Triple Defense” this Public Defender is potent package: two 35 caliber round balls topped with one non-jacketed FTX slug! Now that’s firepower out of a portable revolver. Smaller than the Judge, the Taurus Public Defender is easier to carry and this version is the lightest yet with a poly frame. Against some big bore alternatives like a Glock 20/29 10mm, Glock 36, or Springfield Armory .45 XDM Subcompact, it has the huge disadvantages of slow reload and limited rounds. But we still found the Poly Judge/Public Defender to be reliable, reasonably accurate, and possessing of good value given its price. Just don't expect a highly refined gun here; it's somewhat crude and basic. But in the world of lighter weight .45 Colt/.410 shotgun pistols there's few options.
