The pricing on genuine Crye brand tactical pants is insane.  I won't let you forget their astronomical price as this Nutnfancy rant/review gains momentum.  No doubt the "Crye Combat Pant" possesses phenomenal quality and good design; I show you this in detail.  It's made in the USA.  Who buys a pair of $315 dollar pants?  Few, that's who.  Other more pressing money matters prevent such a foolish expenditure of money for most folks.

If guys are wearing these chances are they got them for free, either through unit issue or as a freebie for a positive review.  Me?  I went out and spent some of that Patreon money to find out what the deal is on these Gen 3 Crye pants (and $45 built in kneepads!) for myself.  I'll cover the details.

But then check out my homage alternative to these pants, see Amazon link below.  They are about 85% as good and I've been running them for years with good success.  They too have built in kneepads, come in outstanding tactical colors (hey EMTs, get the pure black versions), feature good quality (even improved from the ones I show you here), and they're affordable.  They'll go by different names, see below.  I address the "airsoft" criticism too!  In the end the Crye pants, though good, just ain't worth the cost of a freakin' gun.  But what do I know, I'm just an Air Force guy.  Rant complete.

"Tactical Airsoft Pants w built in kneepads," great alternative, check out the colors!:  https://amzn.to/2p0v4Th AND https://amzn.to/2CQjNi0

The WRANGLER nylon cargo pants don't have kneepads but they are highly regarded by TNPrs, buy with confidence:  https://amzn.to/2x9zMlr

I ordered some these recently and they're outstanding, come colors have Generation 3 style of features.  They are 1/4 the price of the Cryes!

Not gonna lie, I spent about 250$ on Gen 3 Combat Pants and knee pads earlier this spring. I got them in Ranger Green though so perhaps that's why I didn't spend as much as Nut'n did. today, I've used them on a few backpacking trips and a few "desert range" trips. Honestly though, they've hung in my closet more than they've been used. It's hard to justify taking them out because they have almost a red flag tactical look to them if you're wearing them in public. Don't get me wrong, they fit amazingly, and they're incredibly comfortable to carry with, but there are for sure better options for both of those for half the cost or even less! Nut'n is right on the money, as usual! If you have money burning a hole in your pocket or if you really have to see what the hype is about, then drop the cash on them, but don't blow your budget or think that they give you super Mall ninja tactical power.

Nutn, thankyou so much for finally helping me find high quality affordable combat pants in my favorite camo (ATACS AU)! As i use the crye combat pants for work i can vouge for everything you've said about thier quality but if my unit wasnt issuing them for free theres no way in hell id spend $300+ on a single pair of pants. especially when you consider what $300 pants can accomplish in WROL vs what $300 in rice can accomplish.
