Wooh! Made it before the weekend at least.

This took us more time than I thought it would. I was absolutely terrified when I discovered it was Friday today. I knew we were behind, but I'm still absolutely certain someone stole our Thursday.

ANYWAY.

Here's 0.7.1, and it brings Charlotte futa/herm!

It also makes custom skins possible. We're absolutely thrilled to see what people will make of it!

To get started with skins, you should download the models that are located on the patreon download page (next to builds):

Jei3 has made a really nice skin manager that you can download over here:

Well now my weekend is gone. Gotta do some cow futa.... things.

dethkruzer

Well now. Gonna have to download this on Sunday. Hopefully this will have resolved the weird color issue as mentioned in the version notes. Will update in my forum thread once I know.

Really great, very good work, by cons I did not understand how to add mesh textures, I uncompress the textures, I drag them into the manager but nothing happens ;(

RagnaBlade

And with this, I am ready for the YL2 Hiatus.

The skin manager expects a properly formatted zip archive. You can read about installing skins here: <a href="http://wiki.yiffalicious.com/index.php/Skin_Authoring" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://wiki.yiffalicious.com/index.php/Skin_Authoring</a>#Installing_a_Skin

The wiki is very well written. Few typos and quite comprehensive. The character sliders page Is very useful to keep open as a reference. I was wondering if maybe the control slider under thrusting is a little ambiguous. I was thinking maybe it could be called something like "master" or "pilot". About wiki entries, I believe standard grammar punctuation rules usually still apply to entries. So using periods after sentences is correct. I think having this wiki is very valuable, I really appreciate it thanks.

dethkruzer

wait, so just to clarify: The "characters" folder that can be downloaded from th tab of the same name on the download page are merely assets for creation of new skins, correct?

I'm glad you find it useful, you can PM me on the forums if you have any additional or specific feedback for the wiki.

Hi Yiff Crew! I've recently got into this game and have been very impressed by it. I am just wondering if you guys have ever considered adding the basic human female/male into the game? I know this is a furry game but it would be so nice to have a human model to work with the current models. Just my thought and opinion :)

Anonymous

the request for humans comes up every other week or so on the forums and in the discord chat. latest official response was "sure, sometime in the future, but nothing dead set either"

Out of curiosity, when was white hair added as an option for Ilinir? I didn't see it in the patchnotes for any 7.~ release, and I don't remember it being a thing before that...

yiffalicious

It was added in 0.7.1 to make skinning hair viable. (Otherwise colors would've been multiplied with pink/blue/purple etc.)

Will you make a database of user made skins or will there be a site where users can exchange what they make?

yiffalicious

We have a forum section for that: <a href="http://forum.yiffalicious.com/categories/custom-skins" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://forum.yiffalicious.com/categories/custom-skins</a>

Are the search keywords based on what the creator specified? Or are there universal keywords for female, etc as well based on what's in the scene? Also, any possibility of a way to force the look-at-player state for scenes that don't use it?

yiffalicious

You can right click an interaction and select "more by this user", or you can just use the author filter, like so: author:"username" No way to force look at player currently.

Ah, that makes sense! Another question for you guys, when you go to the new engine, are you planning on having a way to import skins without overwriting the ones currently in the game?

yiffalicious

Skins will in general work entirely different in YL2. If we get to implementing custom texture import again though, it will probably be in a optimal fashion.
