ngl, always felt weird about promoting something that isn't finished. But maybe the time has come to finally start trying to make more people notice our project? The character editor is fully usable and the interaction systems are making great progress.

I can understand not being too sure about showing off WIP content, but I’d say this is a good time to get the hype train rolling properly. I’ve seen a few lectures about video game marketing, and they never fail to emphasize that, especially these days, you want to start showing stuff off to your potential audience as soon as possible to get them engaged and helping word-of-mouth along. You’ve already been doing that with us long-term enthusiasts who’ve been around since Yiffalicious, but now that you’ve gotten things polished up a bit and are making good progress (and innovating the tech in a way that I’d wager could well be of interest to bigger studios, to boot) on the feature that’s going to be of interest to more than just us creative types, it’s definitely the right time to start expanding the reach of the messaging. Once, sometime in the hopefully near future, you’ve got a playable build of the interaction system up and people have made some content with it (so people who’ve never even heard of this project have something tangible they can easily check out right away), you might want to do some interviews for sites/podcasts/whathaveyou that cover porn games to really get the news out there.

Good foundation needs more development and at a faster rate. I've been following since years ago and it's not amounted to anything finished so far. The big mistake a lot of patreon projects make is they start getting steady fat income from the project and instead of reinvesting that into the project to grow and better the project they do other more personal things with the money. Results are never good. Tried the latest build. Going good so far looks good but still a long way from anything usable. We won't live forever. Im shelving this one for now.

Unfortunate, but understandable if character creation just isn’t your thing. Considering the team’s just two guys, I personally feel they’ve been making good progress, all things considered. They’re not really pulling in enough cash to fully support the addition of a permanent third developer, considering they’re getting just under €7000 a month and that’s before Patreon’s cut and taxes are deducted from the total. That will probably change once the interaction system goes live and the app will have much broader appeal as a result, but that’s little solace currently since the vast majority of the workload is getting the interaction system operable in the first place. We’ll just have to wait patiently.

I don't think you should feel ashamed about it, promoting an unfinished project also makes sense...

I have to agree, you shouldn't feel ashamed. It's still a work in progress, but FurryVNE has already come a long way, and you have a huge fanbase just waitng for the finished work. In the meantime we have the character creator to run with. Even with what little free time I have nowadays, I'm still excited to use the creator, and I can't tell you how anxious I am for interations. Don't be discouraged by what some others may think.
