And here's our reaction to the performance video, where we get a full look at the AMAZING choreo ITZY has prepped for this song.

Definitely got us to rethink about many things - both thematically and musically - and it even changed our perception of the music as a whole to some degree!

Totally get why they'd put this one out separately (and boy are we glad they did).

What a track.

Enjoy <3

Oh this is actually not a b-side. This is also a title track. It's a double-title album.

You even checked the performance video I'm so happy! And the analysis too... thank you for catching all that I've been crying (almost) nonstop with this release, I don't know why it hits harder (maybe because GOLD is more upbeat and fun). This release really solidified Lia's return to the group and how the girls' have been protecting her ever since debut (my own take, the bloodied hands and scars). And maybe because the song is just so... hauntingly beautiful, a perfect release for October and colder months ahead. As for saying why choose GOLD as the main title track rather than this one, I think they still want to 'preserve' the ITZY color and strong sound as the main dish rather than pushing Imaginary Friend which is noticeably 'softer'. Just like with Chk Chk Boom and JJAM which also serves as a double release, ITZY want both songs to have their own spotlight. In one of their comeback content they even said that GOLD is something that only ITZY can pull off, when Imaginary Friend is something that will make people say 'wow, ITZY can do this as well?' I love both MV and the performance video, both compliment each other even better because there is meaning and reason why they should put out the performance video. I agree that this performance video gives a different perspective about the song, compliments the song very well it feels like they shouldn't separate the song and the performance (not that the song is less!). The MV gives more 'clear' visual imagery while the performance video picked beautiful choreography as the tool (fun fact: Ryujin participated as one of the choreographer!). Really enjoyed your ITZY reactions, don't know whether you will be checking the rest of the album or maybe older songs from them, but I definitely will be there if you do! P.S.: The crown pose is their signature pose in every choreography and ending of their performance since debut!

This is the second promoted lead single from the album! And I prefer the performance video. All the imagery was so poignant and I was about in tears for whatever reason. And Lia’s voice in the intro was everything. I love this entire album for them, and I hope this is their new era.

I'm so happy they had a performance video of this bcuz i was so captivated with what i saw in the video. I noticed the longer chorus the first time bcuz i loved the arm thing they did during that part. It is short. Its too short. I need like 3 more minutes of this song. Its so amazing. I like both of them. Also I've never listened to a full itzy album before this so i have no idea about the b side thing.

YEESSS! The MV made me teary eyed and it was so random. And i absolutely love Lia's voice.

No, but this isn't a B-SIDE!! They did a Double Title Track for this album, and I'm SOOOOO HAPPY that this is getting promoted!! I can't wait to see their music show performances of it and hearing MIDZY's chants!

The choreo is crazy as always!! I noticed that groups from JYP have always consistently had really good choreo throughout generations. The crown in the beginning that can only be made with the 5 of them together to symbolise them being 5 again is just 🥹
