So we’re lost, deaf and blind.

In a world we regret.

Who we were and what we said.

In those days we were misled.

No more future, no more time.

In dust and cinder, this is goodbye.

To common knowledge and absolutes.

This unreal world rejected truth.

The sun will set and memory fade.

Our potential is washed away.

A final moment, one blinding flash.

To be reduced to smoke and ash.

We are the spectres of what could be.

Atomic shadows that once lived free.

But we were haunted long before.

We couldn’t listen anymore.

Our self-interest got in the way.

Now there’s nothing left for us to say.
