That's the name of our new project! What is it anyway? It's a interactive novel with some adventure rpg elements. I used Bali quest as basis, that means it was built on HTML5 canvas which can be executed in ANY internet browser.

I built a prototype with the most basic funcionalities so far:

-text interaction

-images placement

-Map navegation

-health/life system(no life points = game over)

-a simple battle system

-a currency system(gain gold for upgrades)

-3 stats system(strength, stamina and agility)

You can see it in http://reddypics.com/fantasy/

You can only play until the end of the 1st battle. The goal of the game is climb the tower and defeat the witch. I want to implement 3  difficult modes with different endings. Save system isn't required, 20 to 30 minutes will be enough to complete a playthrough. I think. Maybe more if you take your time.

As you can see the battle is pretty simple, there is no commands to choose. I will implement a chance system to make things interesting. Of course, I can make things more complex, this is just a start!

What's next? I will add the store feature this week. You can see my suggestion for the merchant, you can buy her stuff and see her private parts! Double win!

I also posted a sketch with a new arrangement and icons. I will change to this new format soon. I am more worried about testing the features.

While Bali quest consisted of static pictures, this one will be more animated. The battles will be fully animated with effects. The defeat animations will show the characters being stripped of their clothes and armor.

What do you think so far? Let me hear your feedback!

Merchant's look is good! And I also appreciate the evil witch's taste in men/ability to non-violently crush the royal guard

It looks just amazing. The plot is funny, combining an interactive comic book with RPG elements looks great and promising for future projects.

The Alternate202

This is already looking like a solid foundation to build upon. It's impressive that you managed to get so much working so quickly! I like that it looks like you can explore the rooms a bit before potentially finding/battling enemies. Definitely adds a bit more strategy and immersion to it. Not to mention with all the various stats and randomness to the battles helping to add to the replayability. Even though it's a prototype, the placement of the ui elements look good; and the merchant looks interesting too! XD So far it looks like it's off to a good start!
