Unlike the North Korean government to its South Korean "intruder", the South's are tolerant and more accomodating to the North Koran innocent defectors. They don't punish or execute North Korean defectors but help them settle down (unless they cause a crime). There are many stories of North Korean defectors who managed to escape North Korea and came to the South, or later even settle down in Western countries. You can look up those stories on Youtube. The part where Pyo Chi-soo said the South Korean's government would torture or pull their finger nail, those are propaganda that they were brainwashed growing up in the North. Evil American Imperialism, rotten capitalism and all that. The message here I think they want us to know, the South Korean government actually wants to help the innocent civilians from the North.

Hella late but I just caught up with this reaction - In the earlier episodes you can see seung joon doing his shooting practice in the woods so it wasn't too out of left field that he knew how to shoot. It was a small part in the beginning but just a refresher. Also yes, the scandal between him and yea ji is definitely still talked about, somehow messages got leaked and there was all this controversy about their unhealthy relationship but South Korean netizens were super unforgiving to both of them. I mean nobody's perfect lol they both apologized and moved on. It's just sad that they have that stigma attached to both of them and people still shun them for it, still to this day. Super fans went crazy and that's why they both went on hiatus. (Yea ji after IOTNBO and Jung hyun after Mr. Queen) happy to see they are both in a better place. Jung hyun's new drama is releasing sometime this year and Yea ji with Eve. Anyway, that's my two sense 😅
