I think the reason why Sang Hwan didn't want them to call Dong Cheol and take him with them was mainly because of the past between the Detective and Dong Cheol. So he probably didn't want to involve him because he didn't want the detective to meet him. Also I agree that if she does end up with someone, it should be with Dong Cheol. Dong Cheol is best boy.
