Heh, someone in the comments: Shu (surround shit with your Nen to make shit stronger), Ko (focus all your Nen on some body part, though at the cost of leaving the rest of your body near-defenceless), Ken (fire up Ren and keep it going for as long as you can, usually for defence purposes), Ryu (distribute your aura around your body dynamically using Gyo. Because that's the only way you can actually do damage *while protecting yourself to an extent*, if you and your opponent are both using Ken and are of similar aura capacities) But yeah, you should really rewatch if you can. And don't sweat it too much, cos as you keep going, you'll see real applications of these techniques that should make it all clearer. As for the Troupe, Shalnark mentioned earlier they want to cart away the game's treasures back to the real world, but without having to clear the game first. Thus, the boat.
