Chapter 7: Prisoners of War

Naruto could only sigh in annoyance as the Quincy King revived and fucked up Soul Society to the point that it looked like the Shinigami had no chance of winning; but that was not what annoyed him, it was the fact that he had to reveal some of his power to repel the Quincy invasion.

Naruto used that as a distraction to get the captain commander to safety, but the old man understood that he would be a liability in the battle, so he didn't argue.

What followed was a battle of Reishi and blue flames, the battle intensified as the blonde was taken by surprise at how strong the Quincy king is, but he was able to adapt to his strength and respond in kind.

This went on until the Quincy's eye changed, his pupils dividing into three, and he started to gain the upper hand.

"Behold before my eyes, you are powerless," Yhwach stated with a smirk.

Naruto lay on the ground, unable to move; he looked annoyed at all his attacks Yhwach had countered and even when he defended, his guard was broken. The blonde devil had already figured out that the Quincy king could see the future, but there was more to it than that – he was sure of it.

As all of Naruto's wounds healed, the Phenex Devil Wings burst from his back, and his flames danced around his body before he launched himself at the Quincy King. Naruto sighed; he didn't have a choice - he had to reveal some of his power against that freak of nature, the Quincy King, aka Yhwach.

Yhwach had eyes that gave him abilities that would make a Uchiha green with envy; he could see all futures and manipulate said future to his favor, but it was not an absolute ability.

In the end, the burnt Quincy was rescued by his second-in-command and fellow Quincy, Jugram Haschwalth. He chose to fight him so Yhwach could escape; it was the last thing Haschwalth ever did as Naruto burned him down to nothing, even when he tried to transfer the damage back to Naruto. The Phenex would just regenerate and continue to burn the Quincy until his mind broke and his body followed.
