Hello everyone. I have created this article because I wanted to ask for your help with a survey.

I am currently working on translating a piece I created for an event, but a small problem has arisen.

This time, the illustration page and the text page are separated, and the translated text has more characters than expected.  If I follow the original format, the font size will be quite small.  So, I have a question for you all.  I have made several patterns using the first page as a sample.  Please let me know which of those patterns you prefer.

The illustrations and text page sizes are actual.  As for the text size, it is adapted to the page with the most text, so there is a little space at the bottom in the sample.

●Illustration

●Pattern A   Original format

●Pattern B Two-page structure with larger text

●Pattern C Illustrations and text on one page

●Pattern D Illustrations and text on two pages

●Pattern E Illustrations and text on one page at 16:9

The letter size of Pattern E is larger than A and B and smaller than C and D.

This survey will help you decide which pattern to use.  Please make your choice.

Pattern B would probably be best (in my opinion) for the majority of formats, but it would also be helpful to know how you expect this article to be primarily viewed ie. Smartphone, tablet, computer or physical copy.

Thanks for the advice. It was definitely important to know which hardware you were assuming for viewing. I have added a supplement to the text, but this piece is intended to be viewed on a PC.

I I think option B is the best option, in other works you have done separating the text and making it with a comfortable font size has been the best option for a lot of text, a single text would require the image to be too large in pixels to be read comfortably and putting image and text together would cause the same problem.

After all, readability and legibility are more important than design, aren't they? This seems to be the case from the way the survey was conducted, with nearly half of the respondents choosing pattern B. I am glad that we did not stick to design quality and confirmed it in the survey. I will use it not only for this work but also for future works.
