Thank you for the reaction! I know that feeling that Ange was mentioning, I think the last time I had that feeling was in JJK with Nanami. That feeling that the character had so much potential and a bigger role in the story. But personally without going into details, I like the decision of Togashi to what happened and how it happened to Kite because of how the story evolves after. But thank you again! This is going to be a rollercoaster, I think you guys will really enjoy it!

It's alright Angie, we feel you with Kite. With the benefit of hindsight though, the way the story plays out and the ultimate payoff is incredible. Trust the process.

Gon’s frustrating aspects makes him a better character honestly. It’s a lot more human than just being calm and rational all the time which can easily and in the case of many shounens, be overly mechanical and not organic. He actually feels like a kid unlike most anime kids. Killua is fine but too generically cool kind of just replaced kurapika as the ultra calculating character because the show needs one at this point and it can serve as a counterbalance to gon. But he’s a very anime character. Gon feels more real.

Yes, that was Kite's head in Pitou's lap. The rest of the body wasn't under the water like some weird people on the internet are convinced of. Kite big dead. And the reason you're feeling let down, ange, is because you're used to the traditional anime mold. HunterXHunter breaks every convention of traditional Shonen.

I don’t think Neferpitou cares really she ain’t got time of pronouns lol. I use she because of her feminine appearance along with her voice and it’s just easier for me but it’s definitely up to the viewers reallly t for interpretation.

I think thats the best part of writing though . U don't necessarily get the time u would think Kite should have and that has just put it out there this is level of threat being dealt with and this is one royal guard level let alone the other 2 and king . For dark themed arcs practically its better to expect anything can happen to anyone.

If people want to use any pronouns for Pitou let them is a fictional character not real life. Anyway if you don’t want to use pronouns that’s fine but don’t “correct people it’s just cringey.

Actually you're wrong to. Pitou does do Gender. It just does it with no consistence so it's ambiguous and subject to choice. The anime team gave HER a larger chest to push the feminine choice and the author referenced real life feminine art pieces with Pitou. But at the same time, Pitou uses masculine pronoun (Boku). So, no one knows and the author never said anything. It's actually one of his leitmotiv and many characters from many works are "doubt". So the real question is : how do YOU consider Pitou ? A female ? A male ? No gender ? Whatever your answer you're right. And wrong.

As a HxH fanboy, I can say that the points brought up by Ange are very valid. It's very hard to say anything about them right now without going into spoiler territory though so I hope that my fellow audience members will be very mindful about spoilers or giving them things to expect just because of eagerness to answer the points that Ange brought up. The others above say let the show cook. I will add something to that - let C&A go through the process as naturally as they can. In other words, let them cook as well. I can say though that Carlie's horror arc vibes is on point. I read the manga before watching the anime and I really felt like I was reading a horror manga during this arc lol.

Finally! Was waiting for this episode. I remember my shock when I saw Kite's head in her lap... I get how you feel about not having enough of Kite. But actually, this gave a bigger shock value to the scene! Cause we were all thinking "even if he dies it shouldn't be very soon" 🤣. This just shows how strong Neferpitou is... that thigh squeeze scene man... she must be leg pressing every day 🤣

I'm sure some other comments have said this, but the 3 royal guards (particularly one of them) have longer/harder names, but they do all have common nicknames. for now: Neferpitou is just referred to as Pitou 99% of the time.

We don't really know what Togashi's intensions are. The only things we have so far are debates in the community. I have no doubt though that he has no problem with people thinking of Pitou as female. Japanese artists draw Pitou in a very feminine way. (POTENTIAL SPOILERS) https://www.pixiv.net/en/tags/ネフェルピトー Surely, if Japanese people thought by hearing the anime or by reading the manga that Pitou shouldn't be referred to as she/her, they wouldn't be so sure in portraying her as female in their artworks. Togashi also drew Pitou with even larger breasts than in the anime back in 2015 https://imgur.com/QtY6st8. With all that said. It's no big deal. If people want to call her she/her for brevity, let them. If people want to call her with other pronouns, that's ok too. It's a fictional character, I don't think Pitou will be offended either way.

I always like the fact they didn't show the fight against pitou. Id made it so much worse. In my mind id told me that there really wasn't any fight to show, he was so overwhelmed by pitou.

I thought when Neferpitou woke up and the transition of her eyes looming over Rammot to the Grim Reaper face was an amazing way of giving the audience a feel for pitou, I will say in regards to Kite's death, if the author was going to kill him anyways, from a story perspective, shock value, and overall emotion strirring, I think that offscreening him was best because I don't think it would hit that hard if it happened during a fight.

haha my wife dropped HxH after this episode because Kite was her favorite character. I also had the same feeling as Ange did about this episode but it all is so satisfying at the end. My favorite show period. Wife continued it like a year later and it's her favorite as well.

I can confidently say that we didn't get to see Pitou and Kite fight, because it wasn't even a fight so no point to show us a murder even tho we've seen many on this arc already lol

The group(Yuzu) in charge of the music endings of HxH is a lot like Gon and Killua, the leader has this warm and crazy energy, that makes everyone love him right away, and the sub-leader is more like Killua, he is usually more serious, lets the other one take the lead but has to tame the wild moments of this partner from time to time ;-) They are the perfect combo, complementing each other's weaknesses. They did 3 songs for HxH: Reason, Nagareboshi Kirari, and Hyory Ittai. During the last talk with Kite, the music in the background was an instrumental version of Reason! I'd love to see Ange taking on their music sometimes! Love your commentary as always! It broke my heart when Carlie said that Kite was maybe her favorite character... Thank you!

Don't forget Yakusoku no Uta (Song of Promise) written by Yuzu and sang by the VAs of Gon, Killua, Hisoka, and Chrollo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yz8NiyD-Fo Not exactly for HxH or their characters though. As the video description says, Yuzu just wrote this song and showed it to Chrollo and Hisoka VAs who ended up really liking it so they invited Gon and Killua's VAs to sing it with them.

I'm sure kite at full strength could've put up a good fight but it's more than likely reinforcements would've showed up slowly during the fight.

One of the things you have to understand about Gon is that all of this is new to him, but it's not new to Killua. So of course Killua is going to look like the more levelheaded one because, at the end of the day, he is. Not because through their journeys he's the only one who's matured, it's more because Killua has been through these extreme situations many many times throughout his childhood. They never really go into detail about the things Killua went through but the fact that he was forced to kill and be in those extreme situations is enough to make him waay more mature than Gon when it comes to scenarios like this. But this is the first time Gon has seen someone he cares about being seriously injured and their life in danger. I think it's only natural for Gon to act the way he did and for Killua to respond the way he did. It's true to their characters and what they've been through thus far. I understand what Ange is talking about but imagine that scene with Gon and Killua both running away together as soon as Kite told them to. It would be soo against Gon's character.

Yeah and the fact that they’re friends makes more sense. Killua comes from a very dark past and he’s tired of it, he wants to explore and be a kid for a while and it’s when Gon comes into play, he is the opposite of Killua and that he was looking for. But they both have things in common as well, they are both strong kids full of energy and craving adventure. Both are the ying and yang of each other’s lives.

I remember seeing the voice actresses of Gon and Killua during the recording of nagareboshi kirari VA version and be completely shocked to see 2 cute and very feminine ladies. The combination of those 4 must have been quite something.😁

It's because of Australia's strict copyright law as far as I know, that's why different creators from different countries have different formats. (I think it also varies a bit depending on the show)
