Hey everyone!

We heard you guys, and it seems as though most of you really want to see our reaction to the Emilia OVA. So we will do that for you and post it to Patreon as a full length reaction. Early jellies will also get access to this reaction. The first Episode of Season 2 will also go live right at the end of the week!

There’s still going to be points in the second season that are confusing and seem like they come out of the blue due to skipping the other OVA. It really isn’t “skippable”, despite being more slice of life.

The beginning and end of the Emilia OVA won't make sense because it takes place after the first one. If you don't want to react to it that's fine, but you might want to watch it on your own.

Eh, it's not important to the story. I had watched it without and I did have a question mark at the end, but just to why the scenery was as it was. Everything made sense, just not when the framing of the framing took place, essentially.

There’s quite a bit of stuff from Memory Snow that is expanded upon in Season 2. Is it probably the least important episode of the show to watch? Yeah, probably, but it is canon not “filler”. It introduces concepts about the magic system, develops the characters, explains how Emilia got to the mansion, and has the first mention (in the anime.) of a vastly important character in Season 2.

Damn. Both OVA’s are quite insightful, with "Memory Snow" also being extremely entertaining, but at least we get Emilia’s.

I still think Season 2 could have waited for another week or two (in order to accommodate your schedules and both of the OVAs), but I appreciate the flexibility you're making with Frozen Bonds (OVA #2). Will you be watching Memory Snow (OVA #1) on your own time, without recording a reaction, or will you be skipping it completely?

Frozen Bonds seems more relevant to the story, but most of the reactors I follow liked Memory Snow better.

It feels like Frozen Bonds, the OVA considered to be more plot relevant, is often considered to be the less popular OVA, at least among the reactors I've watched. I'm not sure if it's because of tone (one OVA is light and comedic, the other is not), or if it's because of the cast (one OVA has a full cast, the other does not), but when I compare the reactions of Frozen Bonds to Memory Snow, it feels like one is enjoyed more than the other. Sometimes the reactor outright states this, while other times, you can tell from the reactor's energy. Both of the OVAs are canon, both add to the lore, both are relevant to the overall plot, and both could (technically) be skipped without causing too much confusion during S2... but I think it's better to watch them both than to skip. Still, it's better that we're getting 1 reaction, instead of no reactions, so this is a win. It's a bittersweet win, but a win all the same.

Without mentioning any specific details from the 2 Re:Zero OVAs, do you have a favorite? I'm trying to decide which I liked more, and I'm kinda leaning towards Memory Snow (but it's close). Just curious to hear what other people think. 🙂

I'm not sure if you'll see this comment before you record the reactions, but while it's unconventional, you could also watch the Memory Snow OVA after finishing S2, assuming that the issue here is not having enough time. It sounds like you really want to start the next season, so I understand why it'd be difficult to do that AND watch two 2.5 episode-length OVAs in the same week. If you decide not to watch Memory Snow off camera, I hope you'll consider watching it with us later. But seriously, again, thank you for watching Frozen Bonds. I don't think you'll regret that decision.

For the main plot the 2nd OVA Frozen bond is very important , but I enjoyed the 1st OVA Memory snow much more!

They post polls like a week before they finish a show or they just pick on their own without a poll. For example, Frieren wasn't on a poll but because of the amount of suggestions they got they brought it to the channel

Idk I have same question 😭 if they ever react to Assasination Classroom my life is just fulfilled so I really wanna suggest them in any possible way! But idk if we should just suggest show randomly in comments like this, or just leave it to them and have hope 🥲
