Hey guys! Fun fact about the final scene of this episode (from a reddit user): What Kaori says to Kousei is a quote from the book Ichigo Doumei. The episode where Kousei was crossing the bridge and came across Kaori, he was reading the same book. When Watari brought over books for Kaori to read while she's still in the hospital, Ichigo Doumei was in that bundle and she began reading it. "Want to commit a lover's suicide / double suicide with me?" is said by the main heroine of the book to the main hero. The characters of Ichigo Doumei are going through a similar situation as Kousei and Kaori. The boy mirroring Kousei is a piano player who would visit the bed ridden girl (mirroring Kaori) who was suffering a disease.

May contain spoilers till episode 18: To add onto this, there are more references in future episodes made from this book. Episode 17 where Kousei is distraught when he hears Ravel is because that's the composer Kousei's equivalent from Ichigo Doumei plays for the bedridden girl. Later on in episode 18 he says Kaori isn't the main heroine of a novel and that he'd never play Ravel. It's sort of like he's saying doesn't want them to end the way it did in the book and that he wouldn't let her give up. That's why I think episode 18 is so pretty. In Ichigo Doumei, the characters pretty much give up and past a certain point it's just depressing and nothing more, but in Your Lie, Kousei gives colour to Kaori's life once again and that makes her want to try her best and not give up. They avoided ending up like the characters from Ichigo Doumei, and Kousei was also able to repay Kaori for making his life so colourful.
