It actually started in the first episode, that the people who meet Violet narrate their thoughts on her. Also, Violet is now possibly the most studied person on the planet when it comes to love letters.

imagine if everyone is as straightforward and as honest as violet, the world would be a better place, this show's storytelling really evoke lots of emotions

In the version I watched, Violet said to Iris that he told her parents about Eamonn because she didn't say it was classified information instead of "a secret" and I think that's funnier and cuter and fits better Violet's backstory.

It makes sense from a chronological perspective to see the OVA between two episodes but it hits harder when you see it after the series; emotionally. The aria comes to life.

After watching your reactions for quite a long time now since Arcane, I know well Ange loves an emotional story driven by characters and with a lot of heart. Don't know who's saying otherwise but don't pay attention to them xD. One of the man's favorite shows is Vinland Saga so there's no arguing against this 😅

I personally had never seen this OVA, and I had no issue watching the rest of the anime all the way through. I heard them mention the opera, but it wasn't super integral to what happens going forward. Still a great OVA nevertheless!

The whole concept is great because it explores the different aspects of love through the eyes of someone who mostly only knew of the opposite through war and employs a logical approach. This episode for example, was a bit about the courage of confessing love and the pain/humiliation of rejection. Also the importance of communicating with family and misunderstandings that can arise when you don't. There are a lot of great episodes to go! You mentioned her not being in tune with her trauma - Claudia mentioned it subtly in episode one: "You don't realise that your body is on fire and burning up because of the things you did" to Violet's confusion. So good catch!
