Mr Joker

this show keeps getting better and better

Haven't seen Ange without a hat in awhile! Relatable.

Bryonna Yates

The thunder behind Rhaenys speech was symbolic to her Baratheon heritage. Her mother was Baratheon.

Some Clarification for you two: The books aren't done yet so I cannot comment from that perspective but I believe that the "prince that was promised" prophecy never came to fruition in the show. Most people believe it was supposed to be Jon Snow that was the prophesied prince but he didn't directly kill the night king, Arya did. Some people think that it was Daenerys and Jon's relationship that was the prophecy. Them being together united some of the realm, I suppose, to fight the darkness. But again, I think the show dropped that plot tbh though. They "forgot" a lot. The scene where Alicent gave the serving girl a drink, that was Moon Tea. The same drink that was given to Rhaenyra when she had sex with Criston. Ange is pretty much right with the Milk of the Poppy. It's like liquid opiates. Viserys was of fragile mind before he died so he mistook Alicent for Rhaenyra and told her the prophecy. She then mistakenly thinks he wants her to make sure Aegon gets on the throne. It's unfortunate events that he was in such a state. What do you guys think about Haelena? She's adorable and I feel horribly for her. To be married to such a piece of shit. She mentioned " beware the beast beneath the boards". What do you think that means? I think she was talking about the conflict that was about to arise. The "elephant in the room" so to speak. Really neat.

Viserys walk to the throne was one of the most epic scenes I have seen for a quite some time. He is just to good to be king😭. Love that Rhaenys finally gets some screentime! Imo she rules every scene she is in. Such a stage presence! 😍 Aemond is a great badass, but he looks almost 10 years older than his older brother. That is more than a little confusing for me😂😂. Speaking of confusing: Not sure if I could keep up with another time jump without a family tree for both families! ☝️😂 They don't need to recruit armies, they are "producing" them on their own.. 🤣🤣 And two things where I totally agree with Bryonna: Haelena IS adorable and gives me strong Luna Lovegood vibes. Unfortunatly she seems more vulnerable though. I fear for her! 😱 And I agree with the double misunderstanding at the end. If that is right, the chances are high that Viserys with his last words (?) finally unleashed the fight within his family to escalate. The one thing he wanted to prevent..!! 🤦‍♂️😭 Best episode for me! ❤️ Do I need to mention that it was an amazing reaction? 🤔 Nah, it was obvious... 😉❤️

lafatte24

.........but is Arya killing the night king even canon/what GRRM was planning?

Carlie & Ange

This was very Insightful Bryonna! As for what we think “the beast beneath the boards” means, I (Ange) would personally say, and sorry for speaking out of term here, but I think it may be referring to the “beast” between his legs 😕 that’s the way I originally took it! More as if to say he’s just going to keep going around tormenting girls/women. I dno, your theory sounds a lot more clever 😆

Carlie & Ange

You’re very right about that end scene! Good analysis on that one. The Luna Lovegood comparison is sooooo good! I dont think we’ve paid enough attention to Haelena yet, maybe we can focus up in the last few episodes 😊

Bryonna Yates

@lafatte24 I doubt it but that's what we got in the show so that's all I can comment on haha

MasterOfPuppets

My first thoughts for "beast beneath the boards" was a danger on a ship or benath the floor (rats? ) . But I don't know were this could possibly fit. 🤷‍♂️

Bryonna Yates

@ange I totally understand that perspective! He really is a beast :( Aegon went so 👎

MasterOfPuppets

Just read that Aegons actor is actually 27 while Aemonds is 20! Well, they surely don't look like this for me.. 🤣😂 Would have guessed otherwise...

I do think the prophecy refers to Jon Snow even in the shitty ending the GoT showrunners came up with. Viserys does mention in this episode that prince would unite the realm against the common foe. Aegon's dream in summary was, "From my blood come the prince that was promised, and his will be the song of ice and fire". Jon Snow (Aegon VI Targaryen) is literally ice and fire (Stark + Targaryen) personified, and he was also the one to unite the realm against the darkness, not to mention he was also literally the prince that was promised ("promise me Ned" - Lyanna). The white walker storyline was just ended in the worst way possible. That storyline should have been the endgame and not resolved in a single episode in the middle of the season, and the Night King dying at the hands of Arya a character that had absolutely fuck all to do with the white walkers/army of the dead. The Long night should have lasted a lot longer that literally a single night and it should have ended at the hands of the character they were building up for the past seven seasons to do so, aka Jon Fucking Snow.

Ngl when Viserys accidentally brought war to his family (my guess) right after the little hope before, I could hear Sting sing in the background like in Arcane: "What could have been...?!" 😭

Diana

Epic episode. The thrown room scene, where Otto slowly raise’s up off the iron thrown….I love that!! Matt Smith is so great whispering “say it” then slicing off his skull 🫣 I was stunned 😳‼️

iice woy

The scene when the crown drop was an accident and Matt Smith was improvised. The close up shot they took later after the improvise.

Yeah 100% confirm by Geeta Patel; the director of this episode
