I love the parallels in the two love stories. Both Lucian and Viego are trying to bring their one and only love back to life. But while Lucian is willing to sacrifice himself Viego is willing to sacrifice the whole world. Senna and Lucian are such a great couple! As you know I don`t play LoL (due to inadequacy) but I played the Ruined King game and it was hell of fun. Lots of lore to absorb and the 6 champions are really a great team with great interactions. The powerwalk is nothing less than epic! If they had managed to publish Ruined King before the LoL-Event (as it was planned, but ..you know: Covid)) I`m pretty sure there would not have been so much backfire from the (lore) community. Still some of the Shadow Isles champions should have been in there as they had strong connections to Viego. Ruined King was also the first time I encountered Pyke and I love him!! Great work Jonathan!! :) As for the Ruination spin-off... I really don`t think so. I suppose Riot might be happy that everyone is talking about Arcane now. No need to tear open wounds. ;-) Yet the core of the story was great and a good way to team up champions from all of Runeterra. Let`s see if they can do it again with the Void event (??)..

I always have mixed feelings concerning these vast story arcs. On the one hand it is nice to see different heroes interacting. However, on the other hand, these stories often become unwieldly and lose some of the grounding that I appreciate in so many of the other cinematics.

How can I put short? 🤔 Some of the champions were the wrong choice. Some of the Shadow Isles champions (like Yorick) already had a connection to Viego in the lore, but they didn't get their part. Instead they brought in more popular champions . If you are really interested in details: Of course Necrit has a video about it "Ruining Ruination". For me it wasn't such a big deal though. But the good thing is: It seems lore gained even more importance though this. 😉👍

You are right, at least Riot now knows their community actually care about the lore and they shouldn't mess with it just for the profit from the skins. Ruined King game did justice to the Ruination lore / event in the end. Hopefully this years Void lore event will be much better.

As I started this discussion I would also like to defend Riot to a certain point. As a non-LoL-player I was like a kind of "parasite" for Riot. I consumed all their stuff (apart of the game) and they never got a single dollar from me. Always wanted more cinematics, music videos and so on. But all this stuff is really expensive in the production especially if it is your claim to deliver the best quality available. I think we all agree that this is indeed the case. I mean, just watch The Call and you know. 👍 So of course they have to make sure that all their work pays off financially. I believe they will find a way to manage both the lore and the money in the future! And for me personally: bought the Ruined King game and bought skins in LoR so I am finally paying back a little .. 😉

Upps. Didn't even mention your reactions. I'm pretty impressed how much you got right on the first try here👍. I loved to see you putting together the informations from Ruination knowing that Akshan will explain everything right afterwards.. 😂. The halfdragon is Shyvana. She usually is a protector of Demacia although she is a magical creature (you know Demacia and magic..). She has been corrupted my Viego. Senna meant that there is still the real Shyvana inside her. I really like her. She is my main champion in LoR. 😍 After Harrowing Ange said "There is hardly ever a good ending with Riot. Comparing your last facial impressions in this vid with those from the AOUAD ep. 11 video, I think this was a rather good ending😉

Love the reactions! Figured I'd point out, Darius or Noxus aren't necessarily considered the "bad guys," all regions have good and bad traits and it depends on perspective. Noxus is considered brutal and an expansionist region which is why they are usually seen as the enemy from outside perspectives, but all the regions have their major flaws. Noxus is often at war with other regions, Demacia hunts and imprisons their own mages, Ionia has a lot of ideological conflicts between mercenary and ninja orders, also jhin exists. As for Piltover and Zaun you are already familiar with their issues, so its all a matter of perspective and there are usually both moral and immoral aspects to each of the characters in all regions :))

Very true! Seemed to be a theme in Arcane too that it all depends on how you view the characters decisions rather them being “bad” or “good”.

Unfortunatly no (at this point)😪. But the she is constantly in polls from Riot to get a new VGU (Visual Gameplay Update). Although she placed second (again!) this year there seems to be a vague chance for her to get this make-over nevertheless . Maybe this could lead to a video as well..
