i’m curious if you guys would ever consider watching hazbin hotel! its not an anime but it’s a musical cartoon so it’d be fun to get your opinions on the music, and the characters are all great (minus.. some…). it’s a very popular show with 8 episodes, so it would be a quick yet enjoyable watch

Pariston is one of the most interesting characters because he's so enigmatic and shady as a politician. Outside of Hisoka and Meruem, 90% of the fan favorite characters on Hxh are pretty generic so I remember him being a breath of fresh air. I don't think Togashi is parodying politics. Politics runs the world and I think he just wanted to do an arc that's drastically different than his other arcs and he likes overly mechanical dialogue/scheming beats so it can get bogged down in this death note-esq conflict. It's not the deepest writing but it's still interesting. The next arc in the manga is also drastically different than any previous arc as well. This is what separates Hxh from most other shounens where they pretty much copy and paste their arc structures and just change up the supporting characters and villains.
