i dont think gon was thinking about meruems power, and a point worth noting, when Pitou says his power might be equal to the kings, bear in mind she hasnt seen him since absorbing Pouf & Youpi's life force, he can fly now & use those nen beams

So, I am sure somebody has, or will, mention this, but when Pitou said that Gon was "As strong as the King" it is somewhat misleading. In the manga translation it is worded differently, Pitou actually said "that [Gon's] fangs may reach the King", and it is sort of more something that from Pitou's perspective both the King and Adult Gon were so far above her power that all she knows is that he is a threat to the king, but it isn't 100% that Adult Gon is ~as strong~ as the King, especially post Rose powerup

The condition was not to have a 50/50 chance against Pitou but a 100% chance victory against pitou. It just happens that having a 100% chance against Pitou means having enough power to challenge the King.

For me, this is a top 1 for this arc. But it can still be argued, that there is an episode remaining that is more PEAK for some audience...
