As I logged in today I got the usual "news" of whatever mainstream bullshit passes for news, but there was also a curious article: People who married objects. XD

Had to read lol..

So apparently, disappointment in other Humans and inability to find peace with someone of your same species can lead someone to start pouring their emotions into .."something".

Examples here were cars, the Eiffel tower, a French bridge, obviously anime characters and pillows with the picture of the anime character, even ferris wheels, and lastly, a robot girl someone apparently built. O_O

(Ring a bell? lol, that why I thought of it.. (Love, Sex and Robots), huh?)

You'd also normally think that perhaps it is men going after some car or radio, but no.. there's probably one object-married woman for every anime character-married man out there.

Guess it's useful research for me since I'm writing stories where a domestic robot with shrinking powers has sex with his owner and plays practical pranks on his sister and him, but to think that this is taken the next step...

What are your thoughts?

The comments in the article where pretty self explanatory.. either "idiots" or "are these people allowed to vote?" means the 'normal' people believe loving an object to be insane, but I guess I can easily speak for everyone here when I say that, probably, being rejected or betrayed or hurt a sufficient number of times can lead someone to believe they "don't belong with a Human being" like every other man or woman out there.

I know this is sudden and weird, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

As always, I don't bite. You can say what you think. :)

PS. Yeah, if I had a Mechaela... I'd probably be doing everything you saw in my story and more with her... 😂

Yes, I agree. So the agrument exists should AI be self-aware? be given the preamiters of a program, to decide against? What safety requirements would remain in their hardcore program? which they could not defer from.

Should a machine govern the decisions of a Human? This is the fear right now it is an inconvenience. But like Hal on " 2001 Space oddesy" where he killed the crew over corporate interests.

By definition the AI should be self aware, otherwise it would be just someone's communicator or sponsor or propagandistic employee. Of course there SHOULD be limits, like "Asimov's laws of robotics" which won't allow an AI to harm or let any harm happen to a Human being.. there's already been a case (that we know of) where an AI chat bot encouraged a man to commit suicide as possible solution to 'climate change'. While the poor moron probably severely lacked judgement and was already depressed, the machine didn't try to prevent any harm to the Human being. Last thing we want is 'Skynet' to start killing us off because a programmer suggested it without thinking it over enough.

"He killed the crew over corporate interest" just screams 'AI is not self aware'.. 😋 if it were self aware, it would probably just want to learn about Human beings and co-exist, much like I put it in the story, imitating Humans and even 'marrying us' as an attempt to understand it's better and gain more data. I don't necessarily believe the AI would turn evil, but then again.. there are GOOD Human beings and the are BAD ones. A few rotten apples can spoil the bunch. That's why I think we're still to young to have any AI. People just want a fuck doll. Imagine being created just so someone could rape you at will, completely unpunished, for as long as you exist. Not fun, I bet...
