Hey Tiny tribe!

I've been thinking, after the last video/trailer I put together...

I used files from games, which are great and very expressive and sound hot and cool and stuff.. only problem (2 of them really) is that

1. the dialogue available from files is never going to be enough to put together a believable and attractive story

and..

2. there are way too many files to organize (I mean it, it's over 20,000 files I got from a bunch of games together) and would certainly take months of work just to sort them out into usable folders to fish them back from when making the videos.

Also, they'd be really repetitive after a while.

SO...............

A while ago (and I totally forgot about it too) I paid for a membership in a "text-to-speech" website where you get AI voices that are so close to the real thing sometimes you might mistake them for the real deal.

So, I'm gonna try something different soon.. enough at least.

I'll try dumping the direct dialogue (basically there WON'T be any reading in the video, just watching and listening) in favor of the (AI spoken) indirect dialogue in the form of narration.

I started doing this in the last three or so videos, giving bits and pieces of inner thoughts, and I think it's been working pretty well so far, but it's lacking some depth in my opinion.

MORE or LESS work? :/

I haven't really got a clue. It's less work than "comic style speech balloons" but probably less than the way I've been trying lately using Renpy.

Also, Renpy (the program that lets me write in the lower part of the screen) doesn't allow me to use a number of video editing cool effects, and because I have recently upgraded my software too and downloaded a TON of effects (like the 'laser' in the last video), it would be a shame not to be able to use them.

So expect something different next time. Hopefully BETTER.

I'll still try to insert some direct speech (screams, laughs, chuckling, whatever) but the narration will be up to the voice "guiding you" through the story.

IF this is gonna make things work faster (and I CERTAINLY HOPE SO!!!) I might adopt this method more often.

We'll see..

-Tony :)
