I like it much better on rewatch than it did when it first aired. I think when it first aired I was wanting more of a continuation of the previous series, and I found the change in tone so jarring that I just wasn't able to appreciate it on its own merits. (The Pandemic struck during its run, which probably made it harder for me to appreciate Future's harsher tone. It was comfort that I was craving during that time, and SU Future really isn't a very comforting show.) Now, though, I've come to really admire its ambition and enjoy it on its own terms.
