Personally, I think Sokka was in the right. What Katara did was reckless and blind, and in an odd way, selfish. Had they not stayed, the villagers would have been blamed eventually. They would have been punished. If Katara had been caught, even if she escaped, it would have put the whole plan in jeopardy, not just from throwing off the schedule, but her appearance and description would be suspicious to the fire nation. She didn't think about what was best for the villagers, she did what SHE thought was helping. When Sokka tries to tell her that they should have jsut left the villagers alone, she says she'll never turn her back on people who need her, but why? To help them? She didn't, she made things worse. It comes off as if she's doing it for herself, to make her feel like she did the right thing. I said before Katara can be selfish in a really odd way. She didn't care that everyone wanted to move on, she demanded HER way. She didn't listen to Sokka when he spoke logically, and implied that until he came to help she thought he was heartless for his position. She doesn't care what other people think, only what she does. This isn't the 1st time she does that, nor the last. Though, there is no hate for Katara here, I like her character. She has flaws, that's ok.

Totally agree with you here. No hate on Katara but this episode was definitely not one of her strongest moments in the series.
