The finale for book 2 is insane I’ll say that much without spoilers yeah zuko is really struggling with himself poor dude.

I wouldn't say Aangs getting more confident about fighting. He's never worried about not being able to fight. He has worried about not being able to meet everyone's expectations. He's just been in an environment where things like violence and anger are frowned upon. Before all this he was just chilling with monks. I feel like with the absence of monks he's able to express more feelings he'd usually try to detach. This is just my point of view on the matter.
