Hello, fellow Pied Pipers!

Last week, I completed all the storyboards and concept art needed for the application. I finished all the promised tasks! However, if there's one thing I've learned, it's the importance of "knowing my limits" rather than just setting a plan.

๐Ÿค”

Storyboarding involves line work and detailing the thumbnails (small rough sketches) to give them depth. Therefore, the number of shots in the thumbnails determines the workload for the storyboard. By counting the shots and dividing them by the remaining days of work, I can figure out my daily workload.

For example, I had about 100 thumbnails for the six scenes in total. The remaining work period was a week. So, dividing 100 by 7 means I had to draw about 15 shots a day to finish on time.

But...

I made a huge mistake. I accidentally didn't add the workload for the scenes with music. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ So, by the time I realized, there were only 5 days left, and after merging the music sequences, it became a total of 200 shots. That means I had to draw about 40 shots a day.

It seemed doable if I worked all day, but it wasn't a schedule that would let me finish "healthily." Nevertheless, by giving my best, sticking to my exercise routine in the morning, and ensuring I slept before midnight, I managed to complete the task in the end.

Now that the work is done, I'm taking some time to recover and reflecting on how it's more important to plan according to my "work limits" rather than just making a plan. That's because a similar situation happened back in April this year due to the same reason. However, it wasn't as tough this time, probably because I continuously observed my own abilities in terms of "the amount of work to be done," "what I can comfortably handle," and "prioritizing tasks."

*

Here are some lessons I've learned through this observation ๐Ÿ‘‰

  1. My comfortably manageable workload is around 14-17 shots.
  2. I can get up to 40 shots done if you work all day. But after 4 days, it's my limit.
  3. If I don't have enough time, find other ways instead of just adding more work (focus on improving the quality of important scenes, boldly give up on unimportant ones, find ways to efficiently reduce time).
  4. Using a habit tracker to monitor my work condition and progress increases the likelihood of task completion.

By knowing and recording myself, I can assess my abilities. If I keep this information in mind, I can avoid making the same mistake again or adjust my time and workload as needed. In my case, I learned this the hard way in a real situation, but if you set your own deadlines and experiment with them, you can definitely gather data about yourself.

*

๐Ÿ”ฅ Tip for "Knowing Your Work Limits"!

Set a 30-minute timer and focus without any distractions! Then, based on what you achieve in 30 minutes, see how much you can get done.

e.g., I completed half of the sketches in 30 minutes. So, to finish the sketches, I should invest about 1 hour next time.

Let's all work healthily and accomplish what we want for a long, long time! ๐Ÿ˜ค๐Ÿ’ช

*

As mentioned earlier, the initial planning stage is almost complete! As a result, I can now share the well-organized highlight portion of the soundtrack with all of you. Thanks to our talented composer, the Pied Pipers' unique colors are shining through in this amazing song! Thank you so much for your patience and support. On October 5th, I'll be back with organized song lyrics, English script translation, and the second round of storyboards to present an even more fantastic project!

Always grateful to all of you! Wishing you a joyful day today ๐Ÿฅฐ
